Anatomy and Physiology

Published

What was (if you have already taken both 1 and 2), or is your least favorite system you are learning or have learned? For example respiratory, neuro, muscles, endocrine etc.

What was or is the hardest?

I'd have to say that my least favorite has got to be the urinary system. UGH! It is soooo boring in class. I've only got 3 more weeks left of school and we just went over it. It's on my test on Thursday, and I'm procrastinating! I've already gone over respiratory and the immune system (which is also on my test), but can't bring myself to study the urinary yet.

I'd have to say the hardest is the immune system, with endocrine coming in a close second (even thought it was interesting) Anyway, this next test is going to be a doozy!

What do you guys think?

I have to take my a&p seperate, so my take on this is slightly different. In anatomy, I *hated* the nervous system, but in physiology, I love it! It just clicked, and I aced the neurophysiology exam. In anatomy and physiology I loved the cardiovascular/blood unit, but I'm a bit of a cardio geek - working for a cardiology department at my hospital and all.

Endocrine is blah. :D

Yeah, I think it's a bit easier to do anatomy and physiology in the same class. In my class we have physiology lecture and anatomy in lab, and it really helps me with tests when they overlap really well in lab and physiology, but sometimes we get ahead in one or the other and it doesn't help.

Cardiology was really interesting! Congrats for working in a cardio department!

I took anatomy and physio separately as well. Urinary, Nervous, and Cardiovascular system were my favorites. When I was in anatomy I hated every system lol (probably b/c all I did was memorize stuff). In physio I got a better understanding of the body systems and our class focused on clinical aspects so it was really interesting.

How many credit hours are they when you take them like that? Do they both have labs? It just seems like a lot to cram into a semester each! Hard stuff!

Mine are 4 credit hour classes each, and each have a lab.

In anatomy our lab consisted of dissections and playing with models, testing our blood type and hematocrit; in physio our lab is more like observing homeostatic mechanisms, testing reflexes, and pathophysiology case studies.

interesting. We haven't done any case studies or anything. That would be interesting to do!

My least favorite was studying all the tissues way at the beginning of A&P I. I didn't think that I would like some of the others, but have surprised myself and enjoyed them. :)

Tissues...end of story

:lol2:Haha! Weirdly enough I kind of liked tissues once I took pictures through the microscope and studied them. They were kind of artistic. Especially reticuloendothelial tissue.:yeah:

It was 5 units and both had labs. it was actually pretty manageable.

I don't really know what units are. Are they comparable to credit hours?
