Please respond to this on this thread so we can all learn about each others situation

Questions

1)RN, LPN, or CNA?

2)Years as a nurse?

3)Area (i.e. U.S. NE, N central, NW, Se, S central, south west, Arkansas, or other country or location)

4) Are you satisfied with your pay?

5)with your benefits?

6)your hours?

7)Do you believe your supervisor is competent at his or her job?

4)not totally dissatisfied with pay, but wish it was about twice what I make now

17. I work part time in home health. There are many days that I work only 4 or 5 hrs. Would like to see more organization sothat I could do a full days work 2-3 days a week, instead of 4 to 5 days a week just a few hrs a day.

17.the management at the hospital i work at generally suck. All they care about is how they look on paper. forget real life and staffing issues.

4) Okay. Unhappy everytime I made a career move experience counted for nothing. I always started at the bottom of the pay scale. This does not happen in the corporate world.

17) Once a co-worker and I voluntarily scheduled to work 2 - 16 hour shifts with 8 hours off in between. All staff called in on our off shift. We were unable to find replacements and were required to remain. We worked in a group home for developmentally and physically disabled children and young adults. Security staff arrived at the home to allow us to sleep and periodically woke us up to make rounds and pass meds. Replacement staff was found for what would have been our 4th shift.
