Jun 12, 201115 yr Just wondering who's starting the awesome journey with me? I went to orientation and now its starting to feel real!!
May 23, 201214 yr I'll be graduating with an ADN in December 2013. I'm happy to say I finished my first nursing class with an A. Not sure I'll be able to repeat that in the future, but I'm glad I'm off to a good start GPA-wise since I plan on at least getting my master's and maybe my doctorate as well.
May 23, 201214 yr Cant wait May 2013 is graduation :)!If we can just make it to May 2013. We actually might have a shot a being a Registered Nurse! Lolz! Jk! Oh what a glorious time that will be!
May 23, 201214 yr Author I can't believe I made it through the first year. It seems like I was just sitting in orientation.
May 24, 201214 yr I can't wait to graduate either! I ahve peds, leadership, and community in the fall and preceptorship in winter and then im done!
Jun 1, 201214 yr Im actually enjoying my LAbor and Delivery rotations, even as a guy. It really has erased the stigma of the rotation that I heard about! I saw two lady partsl births anda c-section. Pretty awesome day. Plus I got to see a CRNA student, and their preceptor in action and multiple CNM's. Glad I got to see APN's in action.
Jun 9, 201214 yr I just finished my 1st year:yeah:I'm halfway through and excited for year 2!!!Congrats!! How exciting! :) I'm trying to get accepted
Jun 9, 201214 yr Author I just got my reading assignment and syllabus for fall. Wow!! It's making fundamentals look like a walk in the park. There are tons of case studies, papers, extra assignments, projects etc. It's cardiac, resp, GI, endocrine, psych 2 and bioterrorism. We have observation days in a GI/endoscopy dept., cath lab, AA meeting, and dialysis center. Our careplans get smaller but I would rather do them than case studies.
Jun 9, 201214 yr It was good but very fast paced!!! I'm in an excellent ADN program. 1st semester is the basics and clinical at a Long Term Care Facility. 2nd semester is heavy on Maternity lecture content and clinical is at a hospital. There also was a very short maternity rotation. Good luck!!!:)
Jun 10, 201214 yr Started in January 2012 and go all summer infact really for the next 26 weeks because the break between summer semester and fall is 5 days! First week of 2nd semester just finished and i just have to have hope and keep pushing. We are doing OB/maternity and med/surg and im taking a pharmacology class online for a credit although the workload is worth 10 credits it seems. I am focused on the May 2013 graduation where i can walk across the stage with my four children behind me who are also sacrificing during this program. Single mother working, 2nd semester nursing student and riding on hard work, long hours, lots of java. I play to win..........Keep it up everyone........see you on the other side :)
