A big applause to all who got in. I'm not in NS yet either, just applying. I heard that you should buy a big planner that has a lot of room for you to physically write in daily assignments and what not. Some even suggested the brand name, colorful , yet expensive planner by Erin condren.
best wishes for your continued success
Congratulations! Don't go spending a bunch of money yet. Wait and see what you actually NEED, what you're allowed to have, etc.
Things that helped me were my MacBook Pro, which I used for my notes and had the ebooks on, a hard folder with a legal pad and pocket inside for clinicals (I still use this as a working nurse now), and lots of notecards, but I found that notecards are a great way for ME to study. Do what's worked for you thus far. I also like having a calendar on paper, one of those spiral ones from the college worked for me. I would write all of my assignments from the syllabus in PENCIL (as things tend to change over time), so that I could really see what I had going on. I'd also put anything else that was going on, family stuff, dr appts, etc. I like that format better than the calendar in my phone.
Congrats! :) if you have the time, get your CNA if you haven't already. Not the biggest deal but it does help. A lot of people recommend that you relax and take it easy before you start and that's great advice, but I also suggest you brush up on A&P, micro, maybe invest in a med term and med math book. You don't HAVE to do these things. They'll just put you ahead of the game :)
Thank you all and congrats to everyone who has been accepted as well! I start January 5th& yes the only thing I plan on getting before hand is a planner but other than that I'm going to wait til orientation to find out what I need!!! And thank you but I already have my CNA&yea I plan on brushing up on my a&p and I'm in micro now so I should b pretty good on that! Thanks so much
Yes... I have a planner too. I think it works great. Much better than the one in my phone. I'm an LPN so this is a bridge program for me. I'm super excited. Only thing I would suggest is just relax and spend time with family because it's going to get busy. I'm currently taking 3 classes now so it is hard to relax but I think that is/was the best advice that someone gave to me prior to me starting LPN school. GOOD LUCK to you.... I start 1/12. KIT! #excited
