I just heard some day in ........(drumroll) JULY or AUGUST they will open it up for us to pick classes or something. But honestly i don't know and you're basically supposed to put the 3 classes you want in your shopping cart and have backups cause supposedly good teachers go in seconds. :lol2:

July or August??? That's ridiculous! Classes start August 22nd. I wonder how they expect anyone to plan their child care or job situation with that little notice?? Yuck!

Yea, I'm probably wrong...hopefully!

Oh! That wasn't directed at you! :) I appreciate the response! I've heard NOTHING so I was just curious if anyone else had... For my own sake, I hope it's sooner. I'm trying to figure out my child care situation, but I really can't even look for someone until I know exactly when I'm going to be at class. Oh well! I'm going to stop worrying about everything and get some sleep! Hopefully, tomorrow will be the day!

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one without anything listed under "My Organizations! haha But at the same time, I just want to know now!! I'm getting more and more anxious as the minutes pass!

And I've heard the same thing about classes, too- we'll be eligible to sign up for them later on in the summer. BUT I've also heard that they assign classes and clinicals for us..? I'm not sure either way..

Test... I seem to be having issues posting.

So I called the MEC yesterday to ask when the letters were going out and I got the, "As is said in your receipt of application, no earlier than 2 weeks after the program deadline. So they should be going soon." reply.

Sounded like she's getting tired of that question. (At least I didn't identify myself!)

Nothing on blackboard this morning for me. Anyone else?

I put all my eggs in the NVCC basket too... So here's to hoping we ALL get in!!!

I still have nothing in my organizations and no letter yet either. I am anxiously waiting for SOMETHING. I feel like the link might not show up this time around and maybe they are doing something different but maybe it just has not happened yet. As for schedules, I have a friend who got in last year and she said the first semester everything is assigned for you and that you do not get your schedule until the orientation date. I could be wrong, and hope I am because basically you have no say. I think that you are able to swap clinicals with other people if they have a day or location that works better for you. It is a little frustrating. I hope we all get some word soon!!!

Wow! I'm shocked that's how they do things. That makes it really hard to plan anything! I just called MEC and they said the letters are being "prepared" and have NOT been sent out yet. Looks like the earliest we will hear is Monday, assuming they send them out tomorrow. I asked about when we can sign up for classes, and was told the instructions will be in the acceptance letter. Hope this helps! The wait continues...

Hello all. I am also a Fall 2011 NVCC nursing student hopeful. Has anyone else run a degree progress check on the SIS? You may see good things there... :twocents:

Hi MimiNurse2B and welcome! Did you try that and if you did, what did you find?? I don't have a link either and no mail today. I am going to remain calm if at all possible. Going to go and have my hair cut to see if that helps. Like so many I feel like everything hinges on this decision. I have a feeling we are all quite type A?! Good luck and keep us posted

:nuke:

I don't want to freak anyone out, but I took MimiNurse2B's advice and went to the SIS/HR Production system (VCCS) and under Student Center, Degree Progress, it now says Active in Program - AAS-Nursing Major. This could be a fluke and may be wrong. I can't compare it to my old degree progress reports because I cleaned out my file after my checklist was accepted, and now those are gone. I think I am doing a very reserved half a happy dance now? Please try this and see what you see!
