I'm so excited!!:balloons: I just found out I've been accepted to VCUs accelerated 2nd degree program. And I have an interview with Duke for the ABSN program next month. I'm still waiting to hear from Emory and JHU (actually I just sent the applications last week lol). I only have til the 28th of Feb to accept VCU. The program starts in May. Does anyone know anything about VCU's program or Duke's program? Do you like it/not like it? Why did you decide to go there? Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Congratulations.
I'm from Chgo so I don't know anything at all about those programs. Did you happen to go to UNC Chapel Hill? My son wants to go there but I know they don't accept out of state students. Any insights into that??

As the name implies, I live in North Carolina, and worked at UNC just a couple of years ago. It is NOT true that they do not accept out of state students. The slots are limited and very competitive, but out of state students are certainly welcomed. Tell your son to apply and good luck!
Thanks for the info. UNC accepts 11% of its students from out of state. I know at my son's high school last year 5 applied and the two that were accepted had ACT's of 34 and 35 as well as AP classes. My son almost tested there plus he will be taking AP courses. My sister recently married and moved there so she really wants my son to attend school in NC. He may try Duke and Wake Forest as well.
Good luck.
