Accelerated BSN program NYU Fall 2011

Hi hopeful Fall 2011 NYU students!

I recently submitted my application for the accelerated BNS program. I saw that other semesters had discussions and I thought it would be nice to start one for us, just to help each other out through the application process.

I looked at past ones when I was filling out my application and found them to be helpful, so hopefully it will be for us.

Love to see who all is applying and how it's going:)

Hey guys-

Got my letter today- denied. I'm surprisingly not too sad about it because I know I don't have to worry about the costs of attendance now, and I knew going into this it was taking a big chance. (My stats: 3.0 undergrad GPA, 3.8 prereqs with a lot of volunteer/intern/work experience). They did suggest that I apply to one of their graduate/continuing education programs though, which is nice. Anyway, I will be attending the school I got into in Maryland in the fall (unless I hear from University of Colorado in the meantime).

Best of luck to you all!!!

Best of luck to you jdubs99! We will miss you!

I too was denied. I am pretty devastated. Don't really understand why, had a 3.2 Business degree 3.8 pre-reqs all complete and 2 year internship at UCSD Cancer Center. oh well...Congrats to all!

Glory be to God! I was accepted. :) look forward to meeting everyone!

:heartbeat I could not be more excited! Congrats everyone I look forward to meeting you!

I was wondering if anyone has any advice for tackling the financial aid monster? Also when filing FASFA the accelerated program is considered a 5th year undergraduate/other degree correct? Thanks!

Sorry another ? - that means we are not eligible for TAPS? right! ahhhhh Thanks guys!

I received the e-mail this morning and... I got in too!!!! I was in the school library and I started to jump up and down. I thought I was going to get kicked out of the library! Congratulations to all who got accepted!!!

I got my acceptance a little over a week ago. Congrats to all who have been accepted!!!

I have still not gotten my financial aid info. Has anyone else waited longer than the "3 days" listed in the acceptance email?

I'm so sorry for those who didn't get in. 

I got in too!! So excited!!! YAY!!

Sorry another ? - that means we are not eligible for TAPS? right! ahhhhh Thanks guys!

you should still be eligible for TAP since it's an undergraduate degree. What you're not eligible for (if you're an accelerated student) are federal grants, the 'free' money that you dont have to pay back (such as the Pell Grant). People who already hold a bachelor's degree aren't eligible for those.

Congrats to everyone who got in! And good luck to those who didn't, don't give up.

Did anybody go to the meet and greets?

jdubs99 and KKandes,

I'm sorry that you didn't get in. The good news is you will be saving a ton of money

So I was going over t he directions that were sent in the email and it tells us to look at the Transfer credit tab... I don't see any of my prerequisites listed there...

Does anyone know what this means?
