Accelerated BSN program NYU Fall 2011

Hi hopeful Fall 2011 NYU students!

I recently submitted my application for the accelerated BNS program. I saw that other semesters had discussions and I thought it would be nice to start one for us, just to help each other out through the application process.

I looked at past ones when I was filling out my application and found them to be helpful, so hopefully it will be for us.

Love to see who all is applying and how it's going:)

for those who got in, do you mind sharing your credentials? gpa? clincial experience? etc...

thank you!!

also, do they email all decisions out ? even if its a rejection? thank yoU!!

hi all,

unfortunately, i was not accepted and received the email this morning. i did apply to the traditional/transfer bsn program and submitted my application on april 1.

best of luck to everyone!

I applied at the end of February, got accepted in mid April, filed for financial aid about a week and a half ago and just received my financial aid today. Hope that timeline helps.

jpie78: the e-mail said that my financial aid info should be available on the albert site within 3 business days. so i guess i probably won't know until monday.

msnee: i have my undergrad degree in chemistry and my gpa was 3.02. i never calculated my gpa just for the pre-req classes, but i got A's and B's on those. i don't have any direct clinical experience. i'm pretty sure they e-mail all decisions, regardless of what that decision is.

thanks guys! keeping my fingers crossed!

Hi all,

I received an email this morning. I didn't make the cut. :crying2:

For those of you that got in, congratulations and good luck on your studies at NYU.

I applied April 1 deadline.

Oh man, today was an exciting day! CONGRATS ClarkC and the others who were accepted. Great news. I am sorry to hear that some of you weren't accepted though. Just means that you're supposed to be on another path.

I have yet to hear anything and just e-mailed an admissions counselor to see if my application has been reviewed yet. I live in the mountain time zone though so I am sure their offices are closed- hoping to hear a response tomorrow.

Best of luck to everyone else!

OH, and to those admitted- stats? ;)

jdubs,

I had a 3.27 undergrad GPA, 4.0 prerequisite GPA, and have been volunteering at a hospital since January (so not much experience).

Hope that helps.

Dan

Jdubs,

I had a 3.4 overall GPA and had all A's and B's in my prereqs. I also have a ton of volunteer experience. Keep me posted Jdubs.....I hope you get accepted. There's still Thursday and Friday. :yeah:

Anybody gather any useful info from the recent meet and greets? Maybe in talking to current ABSN students....?

Hi, sorry I forgot to post stats. I had an undergrad GPA of 3.6, all A's and B's for prereqs. No hospital experience, but other volunteer activities. I've also worked in health policy for the past 5 years and am published.

PS, got my financial aid notice today, they're only offering $23k when I know I'll probably need $10k more. I guess I better go scholarship diving. What are other people doing for funds?
