Pictures!!!!!

I am so excited, my class just took our GRADUATION pictures!!!!! The one with the white hat and pin. It was probably my proudest moment thus far and it felt great! Watching all my friends and I get ready almost brought tears to my eyes!!!! The hats are really dorky and we look like a bunch of nuns but it was awesome!!!!!! It also made me really nervous realizing it's almost over :(

Exciting isn't it? Congratulations. :)

I enjoyed getting pictures taken, but only 48 of the 70 graduating decided to get theirs taken. It really surprises me how many people just don't want to be in the program, or aren't even really interested in becoming a nurse - just couldn't think of anything else to do with their life. It kind of ruined it for me. I don't even know how many people are planning on being pinned. I'll find out next week hopefully but I'll bet it will be less than half. :stone

glad to hear you had pictures done!

in my pictures, my white dress wasn't tight but was sort of form fitting (especially around the bust LOL) and when I graduated nursing school, my best friend's husband was in the Canadian Armed Forces and was stationed in Bosnia - he was always dying for news from home so she told him every little thing including a tidbit about me finally finishing nursing school (nursing was a 2nd career) and she sent him one of my graduation pix - well, I guess he passed it around and there were many "how come the nurses here don't look like that" and "how would you like a bed bath from her" comments (and believe me, I am not what my kids call a "hottie") - so, if anything, my graduation pix made some homesick soldiers happy!!

seriously though, congratulations on your achievement!!

:balloons: congratu[color=olive]lati[color=palegreen]ons!!!!:balloons: that's so cool!

me and my classmates have already decided what we'll do (and we're in first year!) we'll all wear uniforms with stethoscopes!.....can't wait!

Aww.... congratulations! Your post gives me goosebumps. In a couple months, that will be me and my ten classmates... wow, hard to believe we've made it, isn't it? Wow...

Be proud, class of 2005!!! :)

I picked up my uniform today -- pictures are next week. It is exciting!

(Although ... white uniform ... one more week to lay off the potato chips :D And I'm already having a "hair crisis" over this picture which will hang in the lobby of the school for eternity :icon_roll )

So, my hair has been cut, styled, and highlighted; I've been to the spa for a manicure, pedicure (not in the picture, but so what! :p ), massage, and facial, and have been bleaching my teeth for the last few days; the white shirt just got picked up from the dry cleaners today, the pants are in the wash as we speak, and as soon as I'm done writing a reflection paper for school, I'm hopping in the shower to get ready for....picture day tomorrow!!!

Not done until December, and we normally don't take them this early , but I can't wait to put the hat on. I'm just surprised that there are actually people who REFUSE to have their pictures taken because they hate the school that much. Too bad; you should have left 3 semesters ago. Don't rain on my parade!! :chuckle

I agree.

We had this big vote on hats, no hats. There was half the class who were not interested in wearing the hats. The half of us who were all for it thought that so much tradition has been taken out of nursing, we thought it would be nice to keep something. Besides, every class before us has worn caps....

So the verdict was that the half who didn't want to wear them weren't going to.....but then we decided it would look kind of funny with some of us wearing caps, and some not. It ended up all of us wore our hats in the pictures (not the group because our school only had about 8 hats) but in the individual we all have the little white caps with stripes. It makes it feel a whole lot more real now.

Time to go shopping for a cute white nursing dress (is there such a thing???) for pinning.....I'm NOT wearing my clinical whites!!!! And I guess I, too, shall lay off the chips. Don't want to look like a marshmallow rolling around on the stage for all to see!!!
