Failed 1st time 150 questions, NOW WHAT???

Yesterday, I just found out that I failed the Nclex-RN exam. I am still floored. I cryed :crying2: for about an hour to my mom & dad over the phone. My heart is crushed, and I'm embarrassed on top of that :banghead:. I had a gut feeling that I didn't pass , but everyone I know said they walked out of the exam thinking that too. So now what do I do?? I took the Kaplan course, did Q trainers, Q bank, but seems as though on the nclex I couldn't apply Kaplan rules to answer the questions.I start my dream job on Tuesday. I am sooooo ashamed, and feel like I don't know a thing. Can someone tell me about Suzanne's plan??? Help please, I'm just going to pull the covers over my head for the rest of the day and tackle this head on starting tomorrow

Welcome to the site and forum.

Sorry to hear you failed and although you feel it it is nothing to be embarrassed about. Give yourself a break from studying and then if you are going to do Suzanne's plan start on the first tip. All information can be found in the stickies on the main NCLEX forum (will have this icon at the side stickyicon.jpg) there are 2 stickies regarding her plan

You can make it, have faith in yourself and do not give up

Thanks for your support and your quick reply. I'm glad to have found a support system

HI! I am sorry but don't lose hope. Pull yourself together. Take some time then review again! I know it's hard. Take it as a motivation to pass the retake.

God bless :heartbeat:heartbeat:heartbeat:heartbeat

Thanks for your support and advice. Yes it is hard, but getting through nursing school was hard too and I made it. I think I'm gonna watch a movie with my family today instead of keeping the covers over my head all day and then start fresh in the morning with a new game plan

Keep your head up!!! get back on studying when you feel ready and really do Suzanne's plan and trust me, it works!!!, I passed my 3rd try after using her plan.

Keep your head up! I have to take mine soon and don't feel prepared at all. If you don't mind me asking, what were your scores like for kaplan?

:hngon:Hang in there. You can do this.

Sorry to hear that you failed. You can find out about Suzanne's plan by reading the stickies at the top of this forum. Good plan to start tomorrow. Good luck.

its so hard at first. But then u have to move on and face the challenge. In this time you will see how strong u are as a person and how brave u are to face such trials and difficulties. So take the challenge and stand up!

I failed the enclex rn too,at 223 questions. Now I am trying to work on Suzanne's Plan. Heard it's helping a lot of people

I know you are strong enough to do this! Yes, nursing school was terrible at times, but you made it through. Now you have some idea what to expect with this monster of a test and know how to focus your studies for next time. I know you feel frustrated not passing the first time through -- but that's why they allow retakes. And you are not the first person to have to retake NCLEX, and all of those nurses still had jobs when all was said and done. Keep your spirits up. You can't let one measley test keep you from obtaining your dream!

Just remember -- you have people cheering for you!
