Failed 1st time 150 questions, NOW WHAT???
I know you are strong enough to do this! Yes, nursing school was terrible at times, but you made it through. Now you have some idea what to expect with this monster of a test and know how to focus your studies for next time. I know you feel frustrated not passing the first time through -- but that's why they allow retakes. And you are not the first person to have to retake NCLEX, and all of those nurses still had jobs when all was said and done. Keep your spirits up. You can't let one measley test keep you from obtaining your dream! Just remember -- you have people cheering for you!

New Nurse looking to work in either Rockford or Indianapolis...needs help
I come from Chicago originally and have lived in Rockford for 8 years. We love it here, actually. Rottmommie is absolutely right about the taxes and school districts, though. We moved about 3 blocks from the Rockford/Loves Park border and we kick ourselves when we think of what we could have saved in taxes. However, we send our kids to Catholic school so the school district isn't as much of an issue for us...we're very happy with our children's education. If you are a single, young adult I hear Rockford isn't the most exciting place to live. Since I've only lived here married with kids, I can't speak to that much. But for families, we've really enjoyed Magic Waters, Burpee Museum and Discovery Center, Midway Village, IceHogs games, Riverhawks games, free programs at Sinnissippi, etc. I live only about 5-10 minutes from St. Anthony's. I can't recommend places to live, since I don't know what you can afford. Hope that helped!

Will I get fired?
See post #9 on page 1. Someone's pregnant coworker sleeps on the job.

I really AM the nurse!
This may sound silly, but sometimes it is the little things that may make a difference. Do you wear some white? Like a white jacket or white scrub pants? For many people, white says nurse. Other than that - just give it a little time. People will get to know who you are and it won't be an issue anymore.

Rockford???
I'm know some of my classmates had one A and one B in the two, but I'm not sure if any had two Bs. Going into my last semester! They admitted 31 when our class started - they previously only admitted 24 but increased the class size with us. I'm not positive, but I think all future classes were also the larger size.

Rockford???
I go to RVC. I went in with a 4.0 in the pre-reqs and about a 3.8 in general. The #1 thing they look at is your grades in A&P and Micro. Good luck!
