  1. Took NCLEX PN this morning, shut off at 85, came home, did "pearson vue trick" and it indicates that I passed!:yeah::yeah:Will check quick results on Wednesday but am feeling much better with everyone else's responses with the trick.
  2. Took my NCLEX PN this morning, cut off at 85, came home and did the pearson vue trick and it says I passed!:yeah::yeah:Really hoping this trick is failproof! Will do the quick results in 48 hours.:typing
  3. Hang in there - so far all my fellow students who have taken the NCLEX PN have passed at 85 questions and felt like they failed. I'm taking mine on Monday and feel totally unprepared, scared and am afraid I will be the first in my class to fail. But if so then I will retake. Take hope in the fact that most feel like they failed when they didn't. Let us know how it goes.
  4. Do you have a schedule as to what will be covered in lab? If so, what has helped me is to read ahead of time what will be covered. For example, if you know that the next lab will be covering dressing changes, look in your book for instructions and info regarding dressing changes. Sometimes that might mean looking at chapters farther ahead. This would give you a basis to build on for lab time. Also, maybe you could talk with your instructor privately about being in the first group for lab or any other hints she might have for you. Good luck and hang in there - you CAN do this.
  5. nbarcai, I'm in Rockford and attending RVC. If I hadn't got into the LPN program, I was going to apply to the ADN program. I had been rejected because my A & P wasn't finished till the end of May. But they had opened up a few more spots and called me 2 weeks ago to see if I was still interested. Yeah, so I'm in the LPN starting August 18 with my orientation on August 1. They will tell me then what time my classes will be etc. I will do the bridge into RN after. I may take a year to do the bridge classes and work at the same time. I have 3 children (16, 15, & 12) who are in private school and budget-wise I'll need to work. God is good and provides all things in the right timing. I look forward to hearing more from you. It will be interesting to compare RVC's program with Sauk Valley's. What do you plan to do when you finish?
  6. I am also starting August 18 and am in Northern Illinois. nbarcai, are you attending Rock Valley? If so, have you already done orientation? I will do orientation August 1.
  7. nads786, Thanks for the info - I just hate to drive that far with gas prices. I live just down the road from RVC so that is my top choice.
  8. Cheyita, What year are you in? How many are in your class? Do you know if any of your classmates got in with a B in A & P which is what I have. I am taking micro this summer. Before A&P, I had a 4.0. I'm really concerned about getting into the ADN program. I will apply this fall with the hope of starting in Jan 09. Thanks and congrats on getting in! Dod0303
  9. Anyone from Rockford? Which nursing program did you attend, RVC or St Anthony's? Also, what was your pre-req grades and/or gpa? Thanks for any info you could provide.
  10. I am also starting A & P on Tuesday. I have finished CNA (required by state of IL), Nutrition and Chemistry - all with A's. I will also be taking Pyschology this semester and Microbiology in the summer. All other pre-reqs are finished and will be applying for the Associate Degree RN program next fall to start in January 2009. I'm looking forward to A & P - learning how God has wonderfully created our bodies - but also worried about the work load. My school sent a letter detailing what I need to know before class starts in order to be successful in the class. The flashcards recommended for this class are outstanding but scary. I'm 44 years old and this brain has to work harder than some younger ones, but I know that God is carrying me thru to what He wants me to do. This forum is a great support and encouragement.
