Just Took The Net

I JUST TOOK THE NET TEST THIS MORNING (THE PAPER VERSION) AND SINCE I HAD STUDIED REALLY HARD FOR THE MATH IT WASN'T TOO BAD. MY PROBLEM WAS THE READING COMP,I WENT OVER THE STUDY GUIDE FOR IT BUT I DIDN'T WORRY SINCE I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED TO READ.-- I HAVE TO TELL YOU THIS WAS NOT AN EASY READING TEST. I RAN OUT OF TIME BEFORE I COULD FINISH READING THE LAST PARAGRAPH AND WHILE I DID MARK ANSWERS THEY WERE JUST A GUESS. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM? NOW I HAVE TO WAIT 2-3 WEEKS TO SEE IF I EVEN PASSED IT!:uhoh3:

Awwww.. sorry to hear that. I havent taken the NET. Hopefully you did better than you think.

Thank you for posting this. I am taking it in two weeks, and have been really focusing on those sections in the study guides.

When you do the practice tests in the NET study guide, *set a timer*. It will give a really good sense of how fast or slow you are.

Also, you can take a timed practice test online ($15.00, but well worth it). The test is from the people who make up the NET test, so it's good, although shorter than the regular NET. You can find it here:

http://www.eriproduct.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=20

(Go to the second page of that category and scroll down to the bottom. Don't pay for the test until you are ready to take it, because it assumes you're going to take it right away.)

Some more practice reading sections that I found helpful:

Remember, set a timer! Time is your only enemy when taking the reading portion of the NET. :)

Good luck!

I did juist like lori said, and i also went to www.testprepreview, and also google plato net test, and you will get 2 really great prep tests so you can go over and over on them and time your self, then 1 week before, you should buy the internet practice test!

i took the net and scored comp-92.

i have been accepted, and actually paid to take the net in another school since i was applying over there... i will take it again friday, just for fun!

Thank you all so much. I will do all of that... lol :) This was very helpful. :)

I took the NET today. I thought it was DREADFUL. You know your in trouble when you look at the answer choices and your not even close. This happened about 3 times on those percentage questions where you have the two mixed or one whole and you have to find the percentage they are looking for....no way! Then even a division problem, I couldn't figure out WHERE they were coming up with the last number in the problem Needless to say as bad as it is, I guessed on a few, and then the computer shut off before I was finished. On BOTH aspects of the test.

I was really struggling with the reading because I was feeling so horrified over the math. I didn't want to go on, and had an "I don't care anymore" attitiude. THEN they make me sit through what seems like the same type questions over and over on stress, and test taking skills, and my personality...GIVE ME A BREAK!! I was almost in tears from frustration.

I don't know if I even want to attempt this again. I have to wait clear until Fall now. And theres no guarantee I'll be any better at this. One thing it proves is I still have deficits and they are still in taking tests. so maybe I should just take my lumps, be glad I'm in the healthcare field as of now and go with that. I'm afraid it does tell me that nursing school would be another humiliating experience if I still can't test.

Thanks for all the advise and help you've all offered.

What is the Net test?

Nursing Entrance Test

I know how you feel. Even though I had studied the book and taken practice tests off the internet I still felt unprepared. I don't know how I did (since I took the paper test it will be 2-3 weeks), but I won't be surprised if I didn't pass. I can't take it again at that school until next year! Maybe I should have timed myself but I never thought of that when practicing. Oh well let the chips fall where they may. I too am glad to have some health care certifications already.

I can't tell you how much money and time I've spent on study guides, evenings so immersed in math problems the time just flew! I shouldn't have taken it already, but I spent almost 6 full weeks of non-stop studying. I even took it with us on Soring break and whenever I had problems my husband would help me. He sat with me over and over on the internet pre-preview site, I felt so ready. I could do the 30 problems in 30 minutes, why wouldn't I be ready to do 60 in 60 min?

Do you know the ones you didn't get a chance to do count against you? this is what I'm desperate to know, because I think I did ok on the reading. I'm sure I bombed Math whether or not I finished it or not. I didn't want to go on. I wanted to quit and go home when I was struggling through my first math problem.

In some tests it doesn't count against you. Was wondering if this works the same?

I can understand being worried and stressed about how you did. I did the NET on a computer and got the results immediately so at least I didn't have to stress waiting for results. And I don't know if unanswered questions count against you - I just don't know. However, you may have a good enough score to apply to the programs you'd like to get into. I hope it goes well for you.

But once again, I can understand being stressed. Just hang in there!

i just took it today again for fun, and score 93 instead of the previous 92

all i used to study was

1- www.testprepreview.com (left side on column choose nurse entrance test)

2- another full copy of a diferent prep test is here at http://www.midland.edu/~hsd/pdf/8-NET_Test.pdf

i took mine today and did pretty well, i have already been accepted, the only reason i took the test today is because i had already paid for that at my "back up" school

so

great luck pay attention, concentrate, be precise in the math portioin, it is not hard, but dont wornder coz every 30 seconds you wonder... your time will be less!!!

just go for it if you cant find the answer you just jump to the next question, once you hit the last question there is a beutton thhat says "show me only the unanswered questions"

so then you can finish them up!!!

on the english part, you mmust read briefly and then look at the question, so you can be precise with the answer!!!

it works!!!!

listen to me: the net is not hard.... even though if you like to read, that does not mean that you will do great on the english part since they are testing you not about wheather or not you can read, but they are testing how do you read and how able are you to read a science based text and

understand it....

try reading some health related, or science related articles starting about 2 weeks prior so you can get used with the wording, the meaning, vocabulary....

at my test today, we had about 20 of the 30 question about hibernation and the lest questions were about sleepwalking...

at the math i find it easy to do percentage, the only thing that i really had to force my self how not to forget how to divid .2/.036 and divisions like that... the rest i taught my self..!

()

the harder questions will be like 2/5 of (?) is 25% of 124

or 6-1/2 of (?) is 40 % of 320

those did take me more then 1 minute took me like about 2 to 3 minutes,

but there are some stupid ones like add, subtract...

pay attention so you dont miss stupid questions like - ratiio 10:4 ??? you tough 40%? noooo it is 250% !!!!

now 4:10 that would be 40%

dont forget the U.DHT

Unit.Decimal Hundreths Thousands

you can hit easy ones like round 4.327 to the next hundreth and then you do... 4.33!!!!

they will give you like 7.4564 and aske which nuber is the decimal... (4)

so dont be stupid pay attention on the basic stuff...

the algebra is the easiest part of the test, don't waste toooo muvh time on it, you will get

things like 2ax-5ax+ax ???

and things to symplyfy, and to find x... no functions or things like that... not even quadratics!!!

so if you have anyquestions about the net here i am no go for it yall!!:yeah:
