Shoe Support

I do apologize if this has been written before...but maybe one or two folks could reccommend a great pair of white shoes? I have seen several brands...but what feels comfy?

HI,

If you like Clogs! I love my clogs from Dansko.. they were not cheap but they feel sooooo good ! They are ALL white.

Marie:)

Hi mKue,

Yes, careplans are a real pain, and I'm glad I don't have to do them anymore, but they do teach us the proper form of nursing. Unfortunately, I didn't get to practice after I got my license. I had a severe anaphylactoid reaction to Niacin, a water-=soluble vitamin of all things. I had a CVA.

Thst'd why I became an author.

Duh! I had my fingers on the wrong keys when I typed the word, "that's." Thst'd makes no sense!

I have a pair of New Balance white sneakers for school.

I have white birkenstock clogs for work. I had the nurse mates clogs with the strap thing on them and I wore them for school and work and they heel cracked after five months and they were not that comfy for the price.

I do not wear my nurse school or work shoes outside I leave them in my bag not just for germ reasons but also to extend there use. I think that is what did in the nurse mate clogs.

A lot of my coworkers have had good luck with anywhere (?) clogs they come in cool colors as well

For nursing school got a pair of Reebok princess. A great, classic shoe that comes in wide sizes and very comfortable!

Go to Reebok store, get 2nd pair 1/2 price to wear since nursing shoes do NOT get worn elsewhere or even in the home!

I've gone through quite a few different brands, but so far Dansko is the most comfortable one I've found. They are expensive, but they get me through my 12 hr shifts, so I think they're worth it.

Hope this helps!

Allison:)

To the people who wear Dansko's, I have a question. Do they have a removable footbed? I only wear clogs anymore, but have been wearing Birkenstocks because I need to use orthotics, and I pull out the footbed and insert the orthotics. I was looking at Dansko's in a catalog, and I like the look of them , but they don't seem to have the removable inner bed. But I can't quite tell from a pic in a magazine, and they do not sell them in any of the stores around here to try them on. Thanks!

I wear Skechers for clinicals, and I really like them. They have a very thick sole. I have heel problems and lower back problems, and I can get through my 6 hour clinical with no problem.

Also, they are relatively inexpensive. (around $40)

Oh, Frances I'm really sorry about your CVA . How are you doing now? What kind of books are you writing? You can PM me if you want.

Thanks, Marie:)

New Balance are the best. Like most of you I'm sure you don't sit much. I work in a non-stop ER and am lucky to get to pee. I have tried Dansko's (got heel spurs), Birkies are okay but not made the way they used to be. I hear Skeechers and Merrils are pretty good too.
