I just graduated from nursing school this past May. I passed my boards July 6th this year and was immediately hired for the OR.
There IS a light at the end of the tunnel, one that I never thought I would ever see. It was not an easy journey by far but I am so glad I did this and stuck to it.
I became Nursing club president, nursing peer tutor and won several different nursing awards and scholarships. I made this my life and worked so hard to be where I am today. I basically put my whole life on hold to complete this dream of mine.
YOU ALL CAN DO THIS! DON'T GIVE UP! :redbeathe

I begin nursing school next week. Having said that, let me say that this is my second attempt (at a different school, of course). How in the world did you manage to be the President of the association, a peer tutor, and win all these awards, while maintaining great grades?! I applaud you. Just wish I could accomplish some of these things, as well!

Thank you for posting this. I know this was to all students in general but for a moment I pretended it was directed specifically at me. I start school in 12 days and I am so nervous I can't sleep. I have not been in a classroom in over 11 years so I feel like I'm 2 steps behind already. I have to find the confidence inside otherwise I will let everything overwhelm me. So thank you for giving me a boost today!!!! Good luck as you begin your career!

Such an inspiration! Thanks for sharing:) I start in one week...
I seriously made this my life. I ate, slept and breathed nursing school. I didn't have much of a social life, spent my evenings and weekends stuyding. I can't tell you how many family functions and get together's I missed just so I could study for an exam or practice my skills for evals. I only worked about 6 hours a week. I was lucky in the fact that my fiance and I saved up enough money so I could finish this degree and he was the sole provider for the last two years of nursing school.
You all can do this!
