  1. I'm a newly licensed nurse who has a peer interview tonight and I was unsure of the process. Reading this post and the comments have helped clarify my expectations. I am making up a list of questions to bring along, I saw on another post that having questions for them is important. Thanks for posting and congratulations!!
  2. It's doable. This past semester I took PCH with pathophysiology, A&P2 and Micro. It was crazy tough but I was one of about 15 people doing the same. Time management is your biggest friend! Best of luck to you :)
  3. I am in the same boat as everyone else, and it is like childbirth. In 2 years or so we'll look back and say "that wasn't too bad" but now- I'm second-guessing the decision big time. I feel like if every week is like this it will be impossible. But I know I just have to readjust and things will fall into place. Congrats to you all on getting in and good luck with school!!
  4. Rhee, would you mind coming back and letting us know how things go? I'm curious if anyone will have a huge issue with signing such a waiver or if there are positive effects all around. Thank you for bringing this up, its obviously a polarizing topic.
  5. I just received my Classic II SE in Ceil Blue and I love it. It's a silvery blue, very pretty color. The Caribbean Blue w/ rainbow seems very popular from what I saw in older threads. Its so touch to decide when you can't compare them side by side, in person. Do you know where you're ordering from?
  6. Thank you very much babyktchr. I'll look into it.
  7. I'm sorry if this is a dumb question- Is there a database of these "baby friendly" hospitals? I would love to know this before I have my next child, I don't think I would want to deliver in that environment.
  8. Not a nurse yet but I just watched my cousin go through something very similar as a new mother in the hospital. She looked like death warmed over 2 days after her c-section and was really trying to breastfeed. I said she should ask them to keep the baby in the nursery for one night so she could try to get some rest. She said she asked two nurses and they both said no. My heart broke for her and eventually one of her nurses said yes so she was able to get some relief. My cousin was made to feel like a horrible mother because she wanted one night apart from her son. I think hospitals are going too far especially when dealing with hormonal, exhausted mothers. Just my
  9. Thank you for posting this. I know this was to all students in general but for a moment I pretended it was directed specifically at me. I start school in 12 days and I am so nervous I can't sleep. I have not been in a classroom in over 11 years so I feel like I'm 2 steps behind already. I have to find the confidence inside otherwise I will let everything overwhelm me. So thank you for giving me a boost today!!!! Good luck as you begin your career!
  10. MySonIsAdorable, if you're on facebook Medisave has a page and if you become a fan and ask for a coupon code they'll send you one. Its not spectacular, but its some savings! Good luck! Also, by coincidence, my son is adorable too! I love your screenname!
  11. I have no advice to offer except to say I am in a similar situation. Starting my ADN in August with a 3 year old. I'm very nervous about maintaining a good school-family balance. I know its possible and many have done it before. We just have to believe in ourselves and realize its not forever. Strong mamas can get through anything Best of luck to you laski!!
  12. August 22 NJ ADN "Lifelong dreams are sometimes over-rated" As an explanation, I have not always aspired to be a nurse, it came to me later in life. I was talking with my MIL and said I was apprehensive if nursing was for me since it wasn't a lifelong dream and it seems that for a lot of nurses it has been. She said they can be over-rated and I've lived and learned and now know what I want. My greatest motivation is those who have unwavering faith in me- my son, my husband and my IL's.
  13. Congrats jnurse21!! Best of luck to you!
  14. Thanks eharper for the info about the facebook page! Really appreciate it!
  15. Hi mriso! I am also in the RN program. Are you starting at Holy Name this fall?
