Congrats on getting in! So you don't have to complete Intro to Nursing BEFORE applying? It's listed as a requirement for the program so I thought we couldn't apply until after we took Intro to Nursing? If not, that means I can apply to the earlier session and then take Intro to Nursing while waiting to start which would make me so Good luck to you all!

Silly me thought that the ADN would take me 2 years and that included pre-reqs and core program. Tonight I mapped out each semester and the classes I'll be taking (which includes ALL pre-reqs..I'm starting from scratch) and if I figured it correctly, I'll be graduating in August of 2014. I really thought I'd be done in 2 years. (Actually, more like 2.5 since I'm not ready for college Algebra and have to take 2 extra math classes..) And this is best case scenario, i.e. I pass all classes, get into the program with the first application, etc. It's a bit of a reality check and a big bummer. How long are you expecting your ADN will take?

I'd be interested to hear other opinions, as well. I also work full-time at night (7pm-3:30am). I'm not worried about the lack of sleep since I've had this schedule for years and have adjusted. I also have 3 kids who will be in school during the day. So I'm hoping that having my days free for school/study/clinicals and then working at night will work for me. Good luck to you!

Oh, how nerve-wracking!! I agree though. I think you have a great chance of getting in.

I have 3 kids, and I work full time. I'm lucky in that I work from home at night so my days will be free for school work and studying. Older 2 kids are in school full time and my little one will be starting Pre-k for 3 hours a day. This semester will be easy (enough) to manage. It's next semester that I worry about when all of my classes will need to be taken on campus instead of online. My older 2 kids already help a lot and my husband and parents are supportive. So I'm hoping I can manage it all. I will be delegating chores so everyone can help out more with the house. I start to panic a bit when I think about what's to come and how hard it will be, but I just have to remind myself it's TEMPORARY. We will make it and in the end, we will be a great inspiration to our kids!

At my school, you take the TEAS after A&P I and II but before applying to the nursing program. Your score on the TEAS is used in part to determine if you're accepted or not.

Ohhh, I'm jealous. I love anything Apple, especially my iPhone. I recently bought a new iMac. I considered getting an iPad instead but figured a laptop was more practical for doing school work on.

I did get the D ring binders! Thanks again for the suggestions. I bought everything today at Office Depot, who is having a really good sale right now, by the way.

There are US-based companies that do this kind of service, too. I worked for one a few years ago. We actually verified the "whole package". Verified education/degrees, called personal references, called former employers to verify dates of service/position held, performed background checks, etc.
