I see so many people on here worrying about their GPA and their teas. They're worried about how hard nursing school is and if they'll ever pass the NCLEX! You definitely can! I graduated (the first time around) with a 2.6. I had craptastic grades and it wasn't until my senior year at the university that I decided I wanted to be a nurse. However, I knew nursing was competitive so I did my research and found a school that ONLY looked at pre-reqs. So I started working on my pre-reqs and studied my butt off! I made sacrifices but I did well. I also looked into schools that didn't care too much about the teas. Thank God, bc I suck at standardized testing! I failed the math and science parts of the teas. My program calculated our entrance based off a worksheet score-50% for AP 1&2 and Micro, 30% for general, 10% for Teas, and 10% for SATs. So if you were a sh**** student like me in the beginning, do your research on what the program requires.
I also was freaking out the whole time about failing out of nursing school. I heard over and over how hard it is. Yes it's hard and yes you have to make sacrifices but it's totally double! It definitely was not the hardest thing I've ever done in my life as some people say and I just graduated in May!!
Lastly, I passed my NCLEX on Saturday! Like I said before I suck at standardized tests but I still passed-even if it was at 265 questions!
Point is is you don't have to be a genius to get through this. I am a prime example of this! Most people who I see fail have the worst anxiety and that will get you into trouble. I relied heavily on my faith, but if that's not your thing do something else to ease your anxiety because it's not worth the stress! I just wanted to share that because no one took the time to share it with me and in the beginning I stressed out way too much! Just relax and enjoy the ride!!
