YAHOOOOO!

Finally, after working full time, getting accepted a year later than supposed to be, getting accepted at a wonderful school last semester I could not attend (72 miles away), Getting all A's in all classes including takeovers and extra prenursing classes up to 150% of my curriculum, racking up $5K per semester in student loans, floating often (lately) from job to job, having my 200K mile truck fall apart, rebuilding my 200k mile truck with ripoff mechanics, moving in between to increase my chances of getting accepted, living in the ghetto's, and scoring in top one percentile in nation on entry test, I finally get accepted into a school I can manage and live near (even though I still need to move out of this ghetto)!

YIPP, YIP, YIPPEEEEE!

What a racket. Thank God for school though. It's about the only game in town after George Bush raped our Nation and put us in this Great Depression cycle (every 70 Years).

And Nursing is not all its cracked up to be, but its the only game in town with want ads. Good luck, and never let the immature fellow students keep you from studying your brains out. On average, there are 3 serious students per class from my empirical experience. BE ONE OF THOSE 3 STUDENTS! Those are the ones who make up the nursing classes.

:yeah::yeah:

Congrats. You have to do what you have to do to get in. You've shown that. Hope you succeed in NS and get out of the ghetto.

It's been a long road, CONGRATULATIONS:yeah:BEST OF LUCK TO YOU

Congratulations! Actually, I'm going to school in the ghetto. Its not the best place but it HAS a nursing school that is within reasonable distance from my home (10-min drive).

I moved to qualify where I'm going, but still be able to apply to 2 more schools, possibly go to another c.c., and open to a few more I could never afford (or would really want to due to dead end credits w/o bargaining).

I was accepted to the furtherest school 72 miles away this Fall/10, but my truck just cost me $3K and that was going to get me going and pay for gas until school loans came through. Actually, that particular school had the best NCLEX average of 4 county's worth of c.c.'s I was looking at and was like an underutilized resort. It was a dream, and I cried in my rent-a-car since mine was just towed 3 hours earlier. I knew I could not make it and gave my seat up in 5 days after orientation so as not to burn any bridges nor to put another student's dreams on hold. But it is way out of the mainstream, although the hospital I was assigned to clinical was where I'd like to work. But I'd rather be in civilization with more opportunity.

Anywhere is actually fine. Its more of what is realistic, where the jobs can be found in and after school, and where you get the most school funds to go. Hopefully, I will not have to work 40hrs /wk in school, but will be happy to if that is the only way. This summer with 2 - 5 week semesters for speech and English 1101, I did 4 day straight marathon a few times. 3 day marathons once or twice a week were not uncommon, but the 4 day marathons were a little eerie. What ever it takes. What ever it takes.

Congratulations!!!
