What resource do you use for y-site safety compatibility? Specifically I'm looking for Levophed, Epinephrine, Amiodarone and Bicarb. If they have to be run alone or can they be y sited such as with lactated ringer, or NS. Or if you can share what you do?

only one of those not compatible is the ***. but don't take an anonymous post word for something so important. there are compatibility charts widely available with an internet search. be surprised if there isn't one hanging in your unit...

I'd be surprised if your facility didn't have access to a database like Lexicomp, Micromedix, Kings, etc. I would talk with someone who's been there for a while or your clinical educator.
But yes you can charts online. Amio, epi, and norepi are compatible. Bicarb is always a pain in the butt.

Epic has lexicomp embedded in the MAR for trissel's compatibility. From my understanding, all vasoactive infusions are compatible with each other and all sedations are compatible with each other.

Use your facility based resources wisely: nurse educator while on orientation re medication resources along with pharmacists are best to consult for facility based P+P.

Trissel's IV compatibility is state of the art... and lets you check fluids as well as meds.
Davis Drug Guide also lists them but you have to look it up... and is only updated with the new revisions.
