Would you work a shift as an aide?

So I work pool at a hospital. I worked 8 hrs in the SICU and was floated to a stepdown unit and as I entered the floor the charge nurse told me that she assigned me as a tech. I told her that would not be acceptable. I was hired as a nurse and that is the role I would work.

She looked at me as if I had three heads. I again told her if she wanted to use me as a nurse I would be more than happy to help her out but I would never work as a nurse tech.

Eventually they found a staff nurse to fille the role and I took her assignment.

Has anyone ever refused to work as a tech? Any thoughts?

Whoops, just proved April RN's point!

Good grief... I wasn't bunching that movie in with being male. I was actually referring to quoting stupid funny movies as being more of a male thing. Yes, I know, I know... women quote funny movies too...

OK. ok.

You got me there.

I quote Star Wars all the time. :o

and LOTR

and Breakfast Club

and.............well, you get the point.

Eh?

What movie was that?

LOL! The "quoting movie lines" thing does seem to be more of a male thing, at least from my experience. My hubby does it...... quite often.

Although, I'm seeing a lot of females quoting "The Hangover." Not as much as males, but still.

That is from "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"

I'm glad we all agree! :lol2:

I don't think one day goes by where my husband or any male friend doesn't quote something from The Hangover, Tommy Boy, Wedding Crashers, Billy Madison... you KNOW the list goes on... :p

"I fart in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries."

I'm glad this thread got completely off track.

It's great to go from "suck it! lalalalalalalal" to "I fart in your general direction."

Actually, whether OP is guy/girl, I am convinced they have the anatomy to make such offers. It takes balls to say that on here. I wouldn't. And.............my obnoxiousness is the stuff of legend.

Then again, I don't say that in RL. I mean, seriously, what if some not so pleasant person you don't like much takes you literally?
