I plan on applying at Worksource once I get my acceptance letter for nursing school, so I have a question for anyone that has gotten help from Worksource.
Does anyone know if you can get assistance from them even if you get the Pell Grant and student loans?
Any feedback would be appreciated... thanks so much!

Since you and I both live in Florida and I've been approved for WIA (Workforce Investment Act) assistance, let me give you this website to find out more info as I cannot precisely answer your question concerning the Pell Grant due to the fact that we have varying economic/financial circumstances: http://www.worksourcefl.com. This assistance is kind of like a grant in that it pays for tuition, fees, physical, titers/immunizations, gas for your car, even the NCLEX exam fees. However, I don't think this assistance includes childcare, food and shelter, and the like. You can also go to your school career center or community job resource center and ask to speak to a counselor that can help you. Just remember that the end of the program year here in FL is the end of June. So if you don't have all the funds for school and are looking to get this assistance in time for school this fall, I'd hurry! Hope this helps you. Post when you get an answer as I am interested what steps other people had to take to get in this program.

Worksource paid my LVN school directly. Upon admission I did a FAFSA and got $4200, but could not get this money till WS made a payment to the school, halfway through. Come to find out when it came that time WS sent thier payment to the school less my $4200. So for the 2nd half of school I did not do a FAFSA because I would not have gotten anything out of that either all it did was lessen the amount that WS paid to the school. This is in Ca. so not sure about Fl. I qualified because I was on unemployment D/T a massive layoff and had to be pre-qualified for it.
