Which study guide helped most study guide 101 or Lisa Arends?

I found sg101 to be helpful, have not looked at LArends, although have seen versions elsewhere. Got some TCN study guides on ebay and was certainly glad I didn't sign any $5000 contracts for them!

Honestly, I have both and I don't love either. I use them for reference but the textbooks are your better bet. I find the Lisa Arends notes to be confusing because she doesn't use a lot of punctuation and it's not organized that closely to the content guide. I like the layout of the studyguide notes better, but I still need to use the text to backup the notes for clarification (too general). If I had to pick only one I would go with the studyguide101.

I have only used one SG101 so far and it is for Transitions. So far I don't like the set up. I would rather read the text. It's like vague flashcards. Maybe for other exams they are more clear, but for Transitions, I didn't like them. I have TCN guide for Health Safety and love it--I would never pay 400 bucks a pop for them though. I'll try to find them from Ebay. I liked TCN guide because they have chapters and a test with answers after every chapeter, so you know you are digesting the material on each chapter if you pass the short tests at the end. Good luck--I'm just starting too!!!

I bought both and only used them for reference. I bought the recommended text. I also bought used TCN modules off ebay and they were pretty good but still missing indepth information. Some people use these notes alone and pass but IMO they are just not enough. I did not like Lisa Arends notes. I felt they were a little outdated and some of the notes you can't print.I also alway got distracted trying to read them because she has this faded out inprint of this old nurse holding a needle on every page. So If I had to choose, I would buy the SG101 notes as reference only. There is really no easly way around studying for the test. You just have to know the information in the content guide. Save your money and invest in the EC practice exams. They are worth every penny and will help you guage how prepared you are for the test.

Thanks everyone :)

I used studygroup 101 for my lifespans and transitions and I had both but lisa arends was too confusing for me, so I would say Studygroup 101. Good Luck!
