I have a choice to make soon. I have about 5 maybe 6 choices for my RN or BSN (right now either will work for my career goals), but my question is, does it REALLY matter where you get your education or do hospitals just need/want licensed and compotent nurses? Also, has anyone heard any horror stories about any schools (2 or 4yr) in Central and West Alabama?
Thanks,
David

AUM has a great BSN program. You should check us out at http://www.aum.edu, then click to the Academic link, and then to the Nursing link. The faculty is great, the clinical sites are nice, and their graduates carry a great amount of prestige within the state!
Check us out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It probably won't matter after your first job, if then. Most places are looking "for a live one" with the initials R.N. after their name. However, if you have certain career or educational aspirations the school could make a difference, but the places that I've worked don't care. I would do what is best for you and your family. Good luck!

I figure you've already made your decisions on schools for nursing.
If not, I recommend UA for a BSN degree. If you just want ADN and then later come back for a BSN, then Shelton State or Bevill. (I don't know much about West Alabama's programs.) You can always do the RN mobility program through UA while working with your ADN degree.

uah is the best around. when you finish you not only know what you are doing as a nurse but why. It may be expensive but it is worth everybit of it. good luck.

I went there for 2 years to get my pre requistisits and that is an awesome place. If all schools could teach like that one. Is mrs. Klopenstein still there teaching A&P?
