Which review course????

Published

Hi guys,

I am a uk trained nurse, I move to usa 29th Dec and will take nclex as soon as I feel ready. I have completed my CES report and am about to apply to NJ BON for my ATT to take NCLEX-RN

But I am so unsure what review course to take. I was Psychiatrically trained in the uk and have only ever worked in Psych. I have very few medical/surgical skills and even less knowledge. I would like a course that has a lot of actual nursing content I mean biology, medications, surgical, nursing care etc and also a course with tips for passing nclex and practice questions. I would be happy to pay a fortune if need be to help me pass NCLEX. I have read about Kaplan and Saunders but dont know which is best. The one thing I liked about Kaplan was they offer a classroom based review course for international nurses which I think I would really like.

What do you think guys help!!!!!

I think there is a 5 day Kaplan course.

Specializes in OR, MS, Neuro, UC.

Don't overlook the ncsbn review course. It is inexpensive, online, includes a comprehensive review and THEY are actively involved in what is on the NCLEX. I found their prioritizing and delegation questions very similar to those on the test. The lippincott alternate format 250 question review was also helpful. Another book that is very helpful is Exam Cram. Good luck! :nurse:

I think Kaplan review is great, just need to do the trainers and Q-bank questions.

I only like Saunder's for foreign trained nurses, and only the Comprehensive Review. Nothing else.
