I'm not posting a job on here since it's against the TOS, but could someone please tell me where all the RNs have gone? I've been advertising for a supervisor for 5 months and staff nurses for at least 2 months and have gotten no response.

Hi CCMermaid, I was just laid off from my Home Health job here on the South Shore. It did not break my heart, in fact it pushed me in the direction of going to LTC, my favorite population. I was too fearful to leave my job until I was laid off, my husband died last year, I still have a 19 year old to put through college and provide health insurance. I am in Hanson, which is near Hanover, Norwell. I have an ADN and BA in another field, not a lot of RN positions up here in LTC. Where on the Cape are you?

I'm not in Mass, I'm just curious. What are the requirements listed in the job postings? I will be moving next summer, so I've looking at postings in the area where I will be living because I like to be ridiculously prepared. Some of the requirements I've seen have left me speechless. 5+ years experience and ACLS required with MSN preferred for staff nursing positions.
I know a lot of people will not even apply for a job unless they meet or exceed all qualifications.
My ads are basic: RNs with LTC experience needed. IV experience a must.
I posted an ad for an RN supervisor and got a rwsume from someone who wasn't a nurse! Apparently he thought he could supervise RNs without being one!
In home care, EVERYONE thinks they are eligible to supervise RN's; insurance clerks, PT's OT's, IT folks, schedulers, admin assistants, janitors, etc., LOL

I have excellent IV skills....but I"m in a electric wheelchair....I can convert to a scooter. I can walk about 2 feet.....I can make some money and keep my SSDI if you are truly desperate....and I am serious!
(just kidding....LOL...but I do have excellent IV skills....LOL)
