I am starting orientation on Monday and have to say that I am as excited as the day that I found out I got into NS!
I will be working on MS and hope to hook up with some of the other posters who will be on MS too...........heck, just new grads regardless of the unit!! I know we most likely will have frustrating days ahead but if we can stick together maybe it won't be AS rough!
Ya'll have a good day!!

Wow...you're starting so SOON! I'm taking the summer off :rotfl: to hang with the kids. Then I will either start pedi burns the end of August, or Med/Surg mid-September. It's still up in the air, but I gotta sort it out soon. I'm nervous already, lol!
Kelly, don't forget to keep us posted once you start!

Glad that you get to take the summer off. They only had one day position at the hospital so I kind of "had" to start or else take nights and there was no way I was goin to do that at all!! :chuckle
Girl, you know I will keep ya'll posted. It takes a special person to do burn unit esp. peds. I don't think that I could do that!! Hats off to you for that area Andrea. Trying to eventually get to ER at this hosp., I guess I would take nights to get in.
TTFN-
Kelly
PS. don't forget about us here on the boards while having as much fun as you can with those kiddos!!

I started this past Monday with orientation and I'll be starting on the Neuro/Trauma unit on Tuesday. I'm excited. It's kind of a weird feeling. I haven't had a pay check in over 4 years so I feel more like an adult now (even though I'm 32, married and have 2 kids). I would have loved to take the summer off, and originally that was the plan, but dh really wants me to start bringing in that paycheck.
I'll keep you posted with the unit.

I can relate to the no paycheck thing!! :rotfl: I am actually ready to go to work. I have never not worked until school so I get a little weirded out sitting around though I hate to admit I will miss my naps with the 3yo during the day. You think there would be a problem with me grabin a cat nap in an empty room................. :chuckle I am figuring on the first week pretty much "eatin my lunch" but I'll take it anytime..............Good luck to everyone on the new units!!

I start Monday the 13th, we have orientation for 4 weeks, then I will be in Ortho/Neuro. I am really excited because I am the only person in my class to get a day shift. I am also very excited about the paycheck, it is what's keeping me motivated right now! Good luck to everyone! :)

I start July 11 and will be working on a combined Medical/Tele floor. I can't wait. Now, if I can only get the black cloud of the NCLEX out of the way, then I will feel a tad more at ease. . . ..
