What to wear?

Nursing Students SRNA

Hi All!

I am interview next week at Gonzaga University/Sacred Heart Medical Center for the CRNA program. It might sound silly, but I am not sure how dressy to dress. Casual business, full business, skirt suit, pants suit, how to wear my shoulder length hair? Any suggestions?

As far as actual prep for the interview I have been reviewing ACLS and common drugs used in my experiences and gone over answers to possible questions. Am I missing anything? Any suggestions? HELP!

I would go full business.

Either with jacket and skirt or jacket and slacks. It will show the seriousness and respect you have towards not only the institution you are applying to but to your profession. Try several outfits in advance, look at yourself in the mirror. How do you feel you look, are you comfortable in the clothes you are wearing. If not comfortable try something else.

I have long hair, at my last interview I wore it up in a casual fashion .I also think a low slung pull back is appropriate. It appears more profession. If you hair is shoulder length or above I do not think this is necessary, but feel keep it out of ones face. You do not want to appear to be hiding behind your hair.

Do not wear casual clothing to an interview, no matter what the job is! I interviewed job applicants at a moving truck rental corp. and then at a big grocery chain. I was the first interviewer, who decided who moved on and who was a waste of time for the boss. I immediately dismissed anyone in jeans, flip flops, low cut tops or pants, or anyone who did not seem to know what hygiene was. I judged soley on first impressions. It matters.

Blouse and skirt or dress pants, closed shoes, limited make up and jewelry. Stand and sit tall, and be confident and cheerful. Look the interviewer in the eye and speak clearly and respectfully.

good luck!

This is one of those times when meeting the secretary of the person with whom you will interview is invaluable. That person could tell you what the interviewer usually wears to work.

Without "insider" info, I'm thinking slacks/jacket/pants suit thing. Closed shoes/boots/pumps. Different institutions are weird about that. Hair conservative.

Good luck.

Know CCRN-type stuff and without a doubt professional dress!

Watch the make-up and nails. Keep them both as you would appear at work. (minimal make-up and short, unpolished nails).
