I just took my NCLEX this past Friday and unfortunately failed it after 265 questions. When I was preparing for the exam I reviewed one subject at a time (GI/Cardio/Respiratory etc.) in my Saunders book then did 200 questions. I need to get some new ideas on how to prepare for the exam. What was your study schedule like? Did you use Kaplan / Suzanne's Tips / Helen Feuer ?

Sorry about that. I studied Kaplan and failed. I ran out of time. Now I am studying Saunders.

I failed the first time also. All I studied before the first time I took my exam was Kaplan's test. Then I studied for a month before I took the test again. I got a couple of review cds from my friend that just had questions. All I did was questions, 100 per day for a month. Passed the exam the next time around.

I did Kaplan. Everything kaplan- watched the videos, did all the questions untill I got every one of them right, read the book 5x (in depth once then skim read).
I also listened to the helen feuer cd's, did any questions from my old nclex-rn review books left over from school, read HESI 1x.
I did all this in a course of 3 months.
I studied everyday, except on the days that I worked as cna.

You did everything right except... Did you do 4500 questions from Sounders CD after you finish with the textbook?
As I learned from this forum, you have to give your self about 47 - 50 days only to do CD, each and every day about 100 questions. If you do not know some answers, make notes, study them at the same day and repeat next day or so, and than repeat next week. I also did Mosby and that's it.
And I know that many did Suzanne's plan, it is free, try it.

i read the whole saunder 3rd ed evet afternoon from 130pm until 6pm or 7. then I would rest and watch tv the whole evening.hehe
I read the whole saunders 3rd ed. I finish reading it about 2months i think:thnkg:i do it every afternoon 130pm until 6 or 7pm. after that, I watched tv the whole night. When Im done with the saunders I read kaplan strategy book.
In the morning, I do 100 q&a from am until 12noon. I used th saunders cd using only the study mode so I could see the rationale right after. I also did the kaplan cd which comes with the kaplan strategy book and the other kaplan cd which has different numbers of item in each set.
Sometimes when I feel life sleeping in the middle of my reading, I would really sleep.hehe:sleep:but only for 30mins to 1hr then continue reading again. at 3pm I would eat my snack its a 30mins break. hehe. then sunday would be my rest day.
Every night, I pray until I got my result. I would do the rosary even if i fall asleep sometimes. then pray to st jude an st therese as well.
Well, you can do your own prayer actually. as long as you pray. It is really important.
Lastly, stick to your study plan. to your time frame. like if you start studying at 9am you have to do it everyday. its part of discipline.:igtsyt: goodluck to you and dont lose hope.
