Full time starting as a GPN will be around $2600/mo. Of course this doesn't include OT. I think I'm on the low end of the salary scale. I am a newly graduated nurse (LPN) and will be working in the hospital, home health and LTC nurses make much more where i live.

Specializes in O.R., ED, M/S.

Try doing a search on this subject. It has been talked about quite abit over the past year so you will be able to see what a wide range of salaries there around the world. Right now I gross about $10,000 a month with OT and everything.

Hi there Daniele!

It might be helpful to distinguish between what types of nurses, for example RN, LPN etc. I am a student, but newly graduated RNs start in my city at about $3200 per month. It's not an exact comparison though, just the monthly salary. My medical expenses are about $300-$700 per month. I would much rather live in a country that has universal health care through taxes. I would also rather live in a country that pays most college tuition like the European countries. There are other benefits too. In short, sometimes I do think about leaving the US.

If you go to www.salary.com you can look up RN salaries all over the US by city.

HUH???? Where do you work and can I apply online??

Serioulsy, 10K a month? What kind of nurse are you?

I make about $4300 a month full time with no differential. I have been working in correctional nursing for about a year. I made more in the hospital but this is an easier job that I enjoy much more.

I have been a RN for four years.

Specializes in O.R., ED, M/S.

I work in the OR and work other places in the mornings. I have been doing this for almost 9 years since I moved up north. When I am down south working that is all I do, WORK! My days are usually 14-16 hours. I work full-time at one acute hospital and work some days at a sister hospital that is in the same system so my hours there are considered OT and Dbl time. I also work at a surgicenter a few days a week for $36/hr, so this pays my car payment. Some months I have very good paychecks and some months they are avg. Last year, 2005, my total yearly salary was close to $130,000, so it averaged about $10,000/month. I am a very exception to any rule because I am a workaholic and don't care if I work all day and all night. I have been in the OR for almost 30 years so I am no spring chicken but when I go home for long weekends all I want to do is work around the house, no phones or pagers. Mike

I am an LPN in LTC in a little town in north central Arkansas... i work in one of the higher paying facilities there, and have 16 years experience.

I gross about $3000 a month. sometimes more depending on how much overtime i have...which isn't much, cuz it is verboten right now...lol

as our census is low...

i make $16.50 an hour with 1.50 shift diff for 3p-11p.... so $18 an hour

I am a new LVN at a nursing home and gross about $3,000 monthly. But I only work on Saturday and Sunday.

may I ask what state you work? I'm in Tennessee, been an LPN for over 15 years, work LTC on the skilled unit, and top out (so they say) at $18.00 per hour working 12 hour shift, 7p to 7a charge nurse for over 33 patients. No shift differential is paid.
