I'm sorry to disappoint you but you are really going to miss your bread over here, i'm still to find bread that i like , toast tastes weird. Plain bread is wonderful especially the outsiders. You'd have difficulty getting square sausage in England although i did see it in Lidls in a pack with black pudding.

You will be able to make tattie scones.

There are plenty of shops that carry British food at a price. they now stock large bags of salt and vinegar 'chips' in the supermarkets.

No fish and chip shops.

when you say plain outsiders do you mean the heel of the bread which in plain bread is lovley and thick, and is the choice piece for my mum

ayla..exactly that..the heel of the bread is the best bit! we fight for it! My son's friends mammy is from N Ireland, and she brings him back Vida bread!

I miss a good indian and I miss fish & chips. Oh and also Prawn cocktail crisps....but we do get a lot of salad cream, HP sauce mint sauce etc brought over by our friends & family. We dont miss bread as we eat a lot of wholmealk bread and it is nice here....BUT we did occassionally buy in the UK uncut white bread and cut it thickly and toast it with loads of butter - now Ido miss that occassionally!!! LOL

Oh I miss my revels too!!! LOL (they get sent to me occassionally but now it is getting hot here I will have ot wait until the Autumn to get my supply )

We live an hour and a half from Orlando so occassionally go thre for the day to visit and while there will stock up on some british stuff but it is usually Robinsons Blacurrant or orange. However in our local Publix they sell Robinsons Marmalade and Colmans Mustard so I am alright there!! Haveing been here 18 months now have got a taste for american food but I do find a lot of it is very sweet.....I kind of like forzen yogurt now which is a lt less fat than ice cream and tastes just as good.

ah now veda(not vida) is a much missed northern irish food cut thickly and toasted with butter, and not available in manchester.

veda if anyone cares is a malt loaf like sorren but without fruit only really availble in northern ireland, and alledgey scotland

Decent bacon! Not that fried to a crisp fatty stuff that passes for bacon in the USA!
