Hi All,
I am on my second of 14 drug cards that I have to turn in on Saturday. Okay, I've encountered something I don't understand. What does this mean?
Monitor for and report S&S of CHF. I think S&S mean signs and symtoms... am I right? Also, what does CHF mean?
Thanks!!!

Congestive Heart Failure. Don't you just love alphabet soup??
Oh, was I correct? S&S means signs and symtoms? Thanks again!
http://www.acronymfinder.com Great resource. If you can't find it there, you can "suggest" it.
Yes s/s is signs and symptoms.

Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) is right side pump failure. Basically, the heart can't pump enough blood out to the body to meet normal demands. S&S may include peripheral edema, diff breathing, SOB /c exertion (even walking from the couch to the fridge), fatigue and weakness among others.
On a side note, since school started last week, I seem to have much less time to surf the web. Hmmmm, I'm sure there's a nursing dx for this....

Altered net surfing pattern r/t nursing student syndrome as evidenced by dazed appearance, incoherent mumbling and overuse of acronyms and abbreviations.

When I find a wonderful acronym that I have no idea what it is, I use this website...

It's all medical acronyms, so that's real nice!
