What should I do?

worked for 6 months and had to leave with 1 week's notice due to family obligations.

Now when I want to return,I can not be hired as I gave short notice?

what's next?

I would apply elsewhere.

I left a facility w/o notice. It's not my style, but if I had to step into that place one more time I was going to have a total meltdown. I didn't have any trouble finding a new job. At the interview I told the DON that if she were to contact them, no I was not re-hireable b/c I didn't give notice. I told her I wasn't going to badmouth another facility, but that it just wasn't a good fit. She said you could understand that and they offered me a job the next day. I've been there 4 months and really like it, and have even been told what an asset I've been to the facility. So look for something else, b/c you might find a place that you will be even happier/more appreciated/an even bigger asset :)

Agree with the advice to look elsewhere if possible...if you explain your situation, you should be able to work things out!
