What the heck?

So, I started the nursing program on 1/13. I have never been so overwhelmed by school in all my life. I'm just thinking are you kidding me. I have chapters upon chapters to read, I have home work, med sheets, starting nursing plans, a presentation for next week, a skill check off and two tests and this is still the 1st week of school. I keep thinking what did I got myself into. Anybody else feel like that.

It'll be okay I promise :) first term is always the hardest, just keep your head up and know that you can do it! It gets better as you go along through the terms

OMG yes. I remember the feeling. It does get better.

Specializes in Critical Care, Med-Surg, Psych, Geri, LTC, Tele,.

It was that crazy for me at end of first term, not at the beginning. Slow and steady wins the race. It's a marathon, not a sprint. These metaphors helped me when I felt like I was just putting one foot in front of the other but couldn't see progress. You will get through it!

Well, somehow... you'll get used to it. It's about the only way to survive lol.

You will learn how to speed read and highlight what you need to know. First couple of weeks are very overwhelming. It will get better and you will get into the ebb and flow of it. Finals week may be rough but by then you will know so much. Good luck.
