So, I've been orienting at an LTC, which I've had a few problems with. I work part time days. Originally, I thought I was only on the subacute floor but then they wanted me orient a few days on the long term floor. Now, its come the time to get off orientation. They called and said after three more days of orientation on subacute, I'm going to be working on my own on the long term floor on saturday and sunday (which I've had about three or four days orientation there).
The thing is no one ever told me I would be working the weekends like this. It always seems like I'm the last to know or the story always changes.
How are weekends different from week days?

However, the number of family members and visitors multiplies by two or three.

Am I understanding you - you really didn't think you'd be working weekends?

I think the issue was she is working her weekends on a floor other than the one she was hired for

Even if she wasn't originally hired for it, she's been oriented to that floor as well. It's fair game to get floated to an area you've been oriented to, even if it's the weekend.
OP, weekends are typically easier for the reasons Commuter said. Also, there will be fewer tasks that need to be done because MD offices are generally closed so things like appointments won't be something that takes time out of your day. Generally speaking, weekends have a slower, more relaxed vibe than the weekdays in LTC.

While I generally agree, weekends can tend to be crazier because there are less staff.
