Waterproof Watch

Published

Hello All! I am new to the forums. I am starting my third year of nursing school. Last year during clinical I purchased a cheap $6 watch from Walmart with a leather band. It seemed to hold up during clinical but when I wore it to work this summer as a CNA it kept fogging with water and ultimately stopped working. I need advice as to where I can find a good waterproof watch, not digital, with a plastic/metal band. I have been looking online for nurse's watches but all I can seem to find are goofy looking ones with characters on them or ones that don't look like they are going to last more than a day in a hospital setting. I looked online at the "Swatch" company and their watches seemed to fit what I want but are too expensive for my budget/I wouldn't want to get bodily fluids on a nice watch! I'm not looking to spend more than 30 dollars. Please help.

Why are you not looking @ digital? IMO, it is much easier to be precise with minutes and seconds using a digital. I have an awesome digital casio that is plastic and waterproof up to 100 feet. It also has tons of features like a night light, an alarm, and it can easily go between military/standard time... I got it on amazon for maybe $20.

Hi,

My nursing school requires a watch with a second hand. So I'm also looking for a waterproof non digital watch. Right now I'm looking at the nike watches.

I find it a lot easier to take pulses with a second hand plus my school requires one as well so that is why I do not use a digital watch. Let me know if you have any luck with Nike. :)

They don't mean literal "second hand". They want you to be able to count seconds. It doesn't matter if it's digital or analog so long as you can see the seconds.

I use a Fossil (analog) watch with a digital second display in the background:

I have a cheap stainless steel water-resistant-to-30-meters watch with an expansion band from Walmart that cost about $20. I've had it more than a year, it's been washed, dropped, stepped on and beaten upon and is still water resistant and relatively scratch-free. When it dies I'll get another one just like it.

actually my school does require a watch with a second-hand. I've always used digital or i'm trying to find a analog-digital watch w/a second hand.
