Wanting to move to the UK

Published

I ultimately want to live in the UK, but I currently am so stuck. I am trying to get into the Associates program at my Community College here in NY.

Then do a RN --> BSN Program.

Any advice for moving to the UK or how to go abouts becoming a Nurse over there? Especially with knowing so early..

I haven't did well in school so far due to many reasons. So I transferred to my local CC, in hopes that I actually do well, and get into the program, while getting my focus back on school.

Why do you want to live in the UK?

It's very different from the US and nursing is different there. Migration is a lengthy and expensive process. Nurses educated in the EU are given priority over North Americans for hiring purposes.

That's the thing -- the way of living is very different. I like it more in the UK as well.. But I probably won't make it there. :(

Check NMC website for Trained outside of the EU doing ADN to BSN may not be accepted especially when clinical and theory hours come into play. May be better doing BSN first.

Moving to immigration forum as many UK nurses will not know or understand the process

Make sure you check the NMC website, as they have recently changed their requirements for nurses coming in from abroad. You would need more education above bachelor level, as well as work experience
