hi! I was wondering if anyone has applied to the fall program yet (applications are due end of January)!

im also applying with 140 points, im wondering how they are able to pick the order of where the alternates go…. I guess I’m jsut nervous to see how many alternates will get in this semester, fingers are crossed

if you and someone else have the same amount of points they look at the date and time you both applied. whoever applied first has the seat and then the other person gets the next seat!

I emailed admissions to try to clarify the numbers (I know they need to be careful and somewhat diplomatic because everything isn’t finalized…. But I was told the cutoff was around 143 and I was number 93 with 140 points and would have a good chance at an alternate letter but not an acceptance letter. If not this time, I’ll make it next time. I guess I made the mistake of taking the most challenging professors to actually push myself and learn something. ..but now it’s kicking my ***…no grade inflation here.

when I reviewed my applications with one of the advisors, I was told they had 80 seats, and the person in the 80th seat had 142 points. I’m not trying to contradict you or anything but that’s just what I was told! there’s a chance you could still get in, the number of people that failed this semester that will retake in august also determines if you get an acceptance letter or not.

so how does the people who fail this nursing semester work when applying again? are they apart of the 80 or are they still alternates

I’m sure that’s what you were told. Some people are just slightly more diplomatic when giving information, which should be the case especially when the nursing department hasn’t reviewed anything yet.

the people that fail are given the option to retake, if they choose not to the seat goes to a new student. they can only retake the semester if their points are above the minimum for the semester. so since it’s 142 for the fall they have to have at least 142 points when they originally applied. they are apart of those 80 seats, but since admissions isn’t 100% positive on who will fail and/or retake that’s why they can’t send out letters until the semester is over.

Hey everyone, check your emails. I just found out this morning I was accepted.

I have not received anything…I thought it was to early for letters ??

No I received mine this morning.

Congratulations! I haven’t heard anything either. I was told April/May.

Maybe they are sending out the acceptance letters before the waitlist goes out

?‍♀️

Thanks! I’m not sure if it’s because I applied for the LPN to ADN or not but it’s the same application
