I believe CUNY sends out there letters at minimum six weeks after you apply. There is a number you can call to get status. You might have to call a couple of times to get through so don't get discouraged. 2129972869.

Hey everyone.....yes..it is that time of year again...all of us pre-nursing students are waiting for the acceptance letter..!!!!:uhoh21: I see that some has already gotten the letter!! Congrats!!:balloons: As for me, i am still waiting for NYU, LIU, CUNY and possibly Beth Israel....I have a question for you nursing students out there that goes to CUNY now and i hope you guys can help me out as you know the waiting is a torture!!
For CUNY school....when do they send you letters to tell you whether you are accepted or not for the coming Fall semester (06') ?? some said the end of april yet some tells me not until June or the end of this semester (spring 06') that they will start sending them letters out...i really need to know because if CUNY doesn't accept me, i'll have to reply to other school asap to reserve....
So far i've gotten Adelphi's acceptance's letter and they want an answer by the end of April if i read them correctly? but i still want to try to get into CUNY (on a buget) if i can but yet afraid that if CUNY doesn't accept me by April or June and then i won't have time to reply to other school..
Sorry this is long and hopefully some of ya will be able to give me some answers!! thanks!!!

THANK YOU for replying!!! Basically I don't think I am going to get into this CUNY's nursing program since I am still taking my last key course this semester... but I really need to know (even it's bad news) so then I am 100% sure and can consider other programs elsewhere.

I've applied to several school beside this one CUNY school, which ofcourse all privates; haven't hear anything from NYU or LIU yet, but already Adelphi accepted me and gave me $5,500 scholarship to start with... still it doesn't help much with the big tuition so I am still thinking...

As for Beth Israel, I am embarrassed to say I still haven't mail out my application yet :nono: (but going to next week), I know it's really late but I was not even thinking about Beth Israel back then when I applied to all these other schools until this semester:uhoh21: (how stupid I was!), my classmate told me that I should of since I was worrying so much about the tuition of the private schools, and just incase CUNY doesn't want me and Beth Israel's tuition is acceptable (around 25K I believe?)... I know eventhough the deadline is April 1st., they all said late applicants like moi won't have too big of a chance......oh, at least I tried... Are you waiting to hear from them also?

I still think you should send it in to Beth Israel. I would schedule the NLN test asap if you haven't already done so.

I have an interview scheduled with BI and waiting to here back from LICHSON and SUNY Farmingdale.

Fingers crossed for us and everyone else out there waiting.:bowingpur

If you don't mind me asking which CUNY school did you apply to? I currently attend BCC and in order to apply to the nursing program there you HAVE to be a current student ( thats what the director of the program told me). Please let me know if this is not the case, so that I can apply to other CUNY programs. I already took most of my pre-reqs and I took my NLN-Pre-entrance exam as well. I am hoping to apply to BCC's program this semester, all I need is this one class..... the dreadful Pharmacology class.... ugh:uhoh21: This is the key to nursing 41 & 42. Wish everyone luck

Sorry I replied late, I just finished 3 exams today (A+P, Micro, Nutrition) :uhoh3: I was busy studying over the weekend and didn't get to reply back;) . I think you misunderstood me... yes, inorder to apply to CUNY's nursing program you must first become their student and THEN apply their program(by the way I go to LaGCC so I applied there), and you can only choose ONE CUNY school to apply to (e.g. I wouldn't be able to apply to BCC now)..BUT here's the catch, they didn't say we CAN'T apply to elsewhere (besides CUNY ofcoz); in my case I've already have my B.A. degree so at the same time I have also applied to NYU's accelerated program, LIU + Adelphi's regular BSN program and now Beth Israel's ADN (incase CUNY doesn't accept me) so if LaGCC didn't accept me I can transfer out to which ever school that I've applied to and continue to nursing program so I didn't have to waste any time.

I hope this answers you question and feel free to ask anything, I'll try the best I can to answer them and GOOD LUCK!!

I've seen from replies in allnurses that if you already gotten an interview with Beth Israel that means you already have 90% chance of getting in!! Good Luck with everything!!

....Yeah, i actually noticed when i was ready to mail out my application on thurs., sorry guys, my bad:uhoh3: !! the deadline is by May 1st...hehe...for some reason i kept on thinking it's april 1st., i guess i was worrying too much about nursing school :lol2: !!! So did you send out yours roseynurse? the sooner the better since people ahead are getting interviews already!!!

They indicated the letters will be sent out in Early April,

but It seems Mid-April is already approaching..

As a current NYU's 15-months accelerated program nursing student, I didn't recieve my acceptance letter until beginning of May. I know how you feel, the wait just drives you insane.

I am still waiting for NYU's letter also and nope i have not heard from them not even once since i started applying; never gotten any emails (except the comfirmation emails during my online application), letters, brochures, flyers, from them, never; i mean i get at least something from other schools that i had also applied to eventho it is not of anything imporant at least i know iam on their computer system...... i was worrying about it so i actually called NYU back in mid-march to check on my application status to see if there's anything i've missed to send them, a girl transfered me to the nursing department but the answer machine picked up and i had to leave them a message, which of cuz, no one ever reply back. :uhoh3: i am planning to call them tomorrow for the second time and let see if i have to "leave a message" again:uhoh21: i guess all we can do is to wait and good luck to you!!!

i am glad to hear someone from NYU replied!! so does that mean we won't be able to hear from them until beginning of may? is it normal that i've never receive anything from them like i mentioned above? after the first time calling i was a bit held back to call them again because i was expecting them to call me back (and you'd be suprised why i think that because even CUNY calls me back when i leave them a message) but they never did....i was kind of disappointed but it has been a month so i was thinking to call them again tomorrow...

and if you dun mind me asking, how did you support the big tuition from NYU? i heard that their finanical package is not that good and i am worrying about the tuition and whether if i am allowed to take such a big loan out for only 15 months..... do you think it's worth it so far? thanks for replying and take care! :mad:
