virtual ATI

Published

I am taking the Virtual ATI NCLEX class. I have found it very hard to study. The ATI test book shows up in a PDF file and has at least 600 pages each to review for the 7 categories. I do not have time to review all 600 pages for 7 different categories.

Has anyone taken this class? How did you study?

Any help would be appreciated because as of now I feel like I've wasted my money. :S

what is virtual ATI? is it an online class

Wow, 600 pages of PDF.... I'd buy some paper and print it all out then separate each topic

Specializes in Complex pedi to LTC/SA & now a manager.

If you have permission to do so from ATI you can send the document to Kinkos Staples or other print center to have it print and bound. Some versions of adobe reader allow you to highlight and make note. (I know the free iPad version does)

Virtual ATI is an online prep class for US educated students to prepare for the NCLEX. You can find information here: http://www.atitesting.com/Solutions/PostGraduation/nclex/virtual-ati.aspx

I only recently found out that the course is limited to those who studied in the US. Internationally Educated students can use Kaplan.

They actually used to have books..you can still get them for really cheap..a few bucks a book..try amazon or somewhere like that

My school dropped ATI and went with kaplan.. However, I did like the ATI book better, just not the tests.

OMG I TOTALLY agree!!! My school offers this service for free but WTH???? It's like going to nursing school all over again! :nono:

I did the first few tests, scored in the 60% range and STILL was assigned HOURS of reading and questions to answer. I see why they have a 97% NCLEX pass rate, they gave more HW then I had in nursing school! :sniff: I know it's a great program but I cannot do the 5 hours per day six week study plan they recommend. I didn't know it was offered until after I had already paid and signed up for Kaplan, so I think I am going to ditch ATI and stick with Kaplan.

Good luck, and it's great to hear someone else feels the same way!!!

I actually really liked ATI practice assessments/exams. Prepared me very well for NCLEX. it was a mandatory fee throughout school, and mandatory proctored exams so I had no choice but I liked it.

It was much harder than the NCLEX though

Really? I sure hope so! ATI was required of us throughout school as well with the proctored exams too. I did really well on both NCLEX tests that I took saying I had 99% chance of passing, so here's to hoping!

Mine said 98% chance on passing and I did with 75 questions...you will go great!!!

Virtual ATI is like going to nursing school again all over. Having to work so I can pay for my place to live and such I can't dedicate 5-6 hours daily to that type of practice. I really did not like that you can't take the assessments without an ID and Password from the virtual instructor. Once you get out of it you don't know what the rationales are for the questions you answered you just get the assessment of what you missed and then have to remediate. So not too thrilled. Taking the NCLEX in about 7 weeks so here's to hoping it works.
