Oh no, I am an LPN in TN and thinking of moving to WV. I make 18.00 an hours for private duty nursing right now. Does anyone know of the payscale for PD LPN's? Also, what hosp, agensies, etc. are in roane co., WV?
thanks

Go to salary.com and get the free report (not the personalized one). Play with it a while and you will see how to make it work for you. If you are thinking of a specific hospital, use the ZIP code for that hospital to get your quote. It is very useful. I may end up moving, when I last checked, I found out that I would make 14% more in Indianapolis and pay 55% less for the house I want as here with an equivalently decent school district (however I'll wait to get my BSN before I do final research on the move because a BSN is very much preferred in that locality).

Is $19.25/ hour good enough for St. Marys hospital or Lake Taylor? WHen does an RN usually gets a raise in salary? After 6 months? ALso, if you're tied to a three-year contract, does the salary remain for the entire 3 years?

Well I can definitely say that as far as in Richmond and further south like down towards Chase City and South Boston, Emporia-- you will historically make much more per hour in Long-Term Care. Now that is great if that is the speciality you like- ( HINT: I love it- can't you tell!) I have friends that are RN Unit Manager's making 26 to 30 dollars per hour. DON's and ADON's making upwards 35 to 40 an hour. It just all depends on how large the LTC facility is and the company that manages it.
