  1. I can definitely tell you that long term care here in Richmond pays from 18.00 and up.
  2. I am so sorry you are being subjected to such blatantly inconsiderate, selfish, and ignorant behavior. I have been in this situation before, where the administrator and DON were almost jealous that I was out. However I had the doctor's note that covered me for my days out. but they treated me different when I came back. It is really bad when nurses lose the compassion that they know they should have for their patients as well as their coworkers. You are in my prayers. Keep your head up, and try not to let on to them that their behavior is bothering you. and I believe I would seek legal advisement as well.

And may I also add.... do not rely on the Unit Managers and Charge Nurses to be 100% accurate with this form. I was a State Surveyor- and have been in LTC almost 9 years now...... currently as the Director of Clinical Services/ADON at a LTC facility- I always update my own copy, because historically the Unit Managers do not keep their's TRULY up-to-date. Just a thought. I am a seasoned ADON, still do not claim to know everything there is to know about LTC- never will because it changes every minute. But if I can help you in anyway, do not hesitate to ask. :balloons:

Well I can definitely say that as far as in Richmond and further south like down towards Chase City and South Boston, Emporia-- you will historically make much more per hour in Long-Term Care. Now that is great if that is the speciality you like- ( HINT: I love it- can't you tell!) I have friends that are RN Unit Manager's making 26 to 30 dollars per hour. DON's and ADON's making upwards 35 to 40 an hour. It just all depends on how large the LTC facility is and the company that manages it.
