Hello, has anyone applied to the VA New Grad Program for March 2021? My application has been referred, and I had an interview that I felt that I bombed, but they asked for references. Does anyone have any idea what is next?

How long after it was "referred" did it take to get an interview? Do you have veteran preference too?

I was referred on the 15th, and I had the interview in the first week of Dec. I am a veteran, but I did not apply for preference. I did add my DD214 with my supporting documents. How about you?
I have eight applications submitted for various nursing positions. Four have been referred, the earliest was Dec. 2nd and no further email since then. I know it is a long process. Sounds like your interview took place quickly.
I did claim veteran preference. For me working at the VA and staying at my current employer would be two great careers. My mother was a military flight nurse and I have several other family members who are veterans. Continuing my sense of service in this way would be fulfilling.
I also applied for various RN positions, referred to managers for them, and only received two interviews. The first I did not get the position, the second was for the new grad program, in which I am still waiting for any updates. ? I was fortunate to receive the first interview as I graduated back in May with only an ADN. I am, however, working on my MSN. ?
Thank you and your family for your sacrifices. I hope you hear back soon!
