Hello,
I have been reading lots of useful information on this site. Thank you for all of you that have shared your experiences. I received a tentative job offer in June. All of my documentation and physical were completed in July. I understand the process take 60-120 days. With the on boarding of so many nurses during COVID I am sure they are back logged with background checks. As I try to patiently wait, I wanted to ask how did you receive your official job offer from the VA, email, call, or by mail?
Thank you !

I applied 10/30. Job closed 11/2. Got a call for an interview 11/17. Interview was over the phone 11/18. Called me today wanting three references. I’m not sure how the process works from here.

Official job offer was first received via phone call. As soon as we hung up, the written offer was emailed to me immediately. Hope this helps!

Hey there! How long do you find something out after your phone interview? The lady sent me something in an email wanting references and said she will only call references if she want to hire me. Interviews were over on Tuesday and it is Friday now.

2 days after my phone interview, I recvd an email requesting references. I immediately replied to the email and sent the hiring manager a word doc listing 4 references (1 had to be be a nursing reference to attest to my nursing abilities). I included the reference name, email and phone #. I then recvd a tentative job offer 2 weeks after my phone interview. Hope this helps.

Hello all,
I am going through the VA hiring process and I just submitted my references. Anyone that has already gone through the process can you all tell me if I have a lot longer to wait. I waited a week and half to hear that they were moving forward with my background and references. So I'm just so eager and ready. Your replies are greatly encouraged.
I received tentative offer in June. The background check and reference check began. I found out in October that my supervisor had not submitted their reference so there was a delay. Once that was done, final offer in December and started in January.
OMG! Okay well sounds like I have a ways to go. Thanks for your response.
You’re welcome! Yes, it’s crazy! But, I love it !
Also, I think all facilities have different turn around time! What state are you in ?
I live in Texas. I will be working for a VA clinic. And they sounded like they were in a rush to get someone hired. I hope it goes quick.

I applied on 3/31/21 the job closed on 4/5/21 got a call on 4/13/21 and had an interview 4/15/21 and got a call back the next day and they said they were pleased and impressed with my interview and wanted to contact my supervisor. My current supervisor per company policy cannot give a reference and they called me back on 4/20 asking for my former supervisors info to call and the next morning my former supervisor texted me and said the VA called her and she gave me an "excellent reference" and it's been a week and I haven't received anything and the listing still says "referred" LOL does anyone have an idea what's next? Is this a good sign? I know it can take time but it seemed like they were contacting me pretty quick and now it's gone dead (even though it's just been a week LOL) if anybody has any insight it'd be greatly appreciated. LOL and hope everything panned out for you as well
