Hi guys, I just applied to UWF's FNP program that starts in January. I'm curious if anyone else has, as well. Anyone know timelines of when we're supposed to find out if we're accepted or not? Elsewise, do any past or current students have any information on the pace or any other relevant information about the program? I'd appreciate any info ?

I applied as well. I didn’t get in for fall 2020 so I’m hopeful for this upcoming semester. I’ve been told we will find out in early November!

I applied too! Applied late for Fall 2020 and didn't get in but trying for Spring 2021. My admissions counselor said early November for admission decisions. Other posts say lots of papers but doable and we have to find out own preceptors but I recall my counselor stating they do placement.

Hey guys!! I applied for Spring. Has anyone heard yet? I didn’t realize it was so competitive. I read on another thread it was about a 1 in 5 chance. Yeesh!
Hi RNZeke,
No I have not heard back yet. My admissions counselors texts and emails every week to let me know they are not done yet...??. Hopefully within thr next 2 weeks. I didn't realize it was that competitive either!
I haven’t heard back either. Finger’s crossed! Anyone want to share their stats?
My stats arent that great.
BSN GPA 3.60, been a nurse for 7 months. I figured the time (2 years) would pass so why not begin now. I also volunteer with the medical reserves. That's about it. How about you?
Still haven’t heard back yet either! BSN GPA 4.0, I’m also a newer nurse - 12 months of ICU stepdown experience. As I mentioned earlier, I didn’t get in for fall 2020. So, I joined some committees at work, joined the ANA and AACN associations, completely revamped my goal statement, got my ACLS, PALS, NIH, and PCCN done, and got some more volunteer work done. Hoping for good news this time around. ? good luck to everyone we should be hearing back soon!
Nurse102512,
You stats looks great! I also have my ACLS and am part of AACN. Good luck to us!
As far as GPA I have a 3.4 cummulative from my BSN. I started my DNP and took classes for it with A’s but had a moment of clarity where I realized I don’t want or need a doctorate degree, so I looked for a MSN and found this last remaining hold out. I have been a nurse for 11 years. I have many different specialties of experience. Psych, med/surg, mother baby, L&D, procedural endoscopy. I also did 3 years of preauthorization. Of course I have the required certs for my job such as ACLS and others. Plenty of volunteer work, not sure I left it as part of the CV. My application counselor had a very lax approach to my application. That is probably where I got the idea it wasn’t overly competitive. This isn't my first choice but it is my first application. I thought it was a foregone conclusion though. I am now getting my other application together.

Hey everyone!
I applied for the Spring 2021 FNP program as well (in September). I got an email from my enrollment counselor today. He stated that final decisions have not been made yet, and "hopefully" we will know something soon.
He indicated that there were lots of applicants for the Spring Semester...….
Best of luck to everyone!
We will need to start a FB Group once the semester starts so we can communicate, support, and vent to each other ?
Getting so anxious to hear back!! I’ve been putting my eggs in one basket as I’ve only applied to this program the past two semesters ??
