UW BSN program 2015

Hey guys !

I'm applying and I'm really nervous, but excited to start my nursing program soon. Anyone else applying to UW?

Thanks shelleybaumer, I guess I will find out more during the interview tomorrow! Did you apply to any other school besides UW?

Does anyone remember what the director of nursing was saying in the beginning about why we got invited to the proctored essay? I heard that it was because we knew how to follow directions but missed the rest. They were passing the paper out and couldn't hear it.

She was giving us words of encouragement. She said everyone in the room were the best top half of all 486 (I think that's the number?) people that applied :)

Thanks. I was trying to listen in, but the shuffling of papers made it difficult to hear. I can't believe it was only almost 500 people that applied. It feels like such a small number.

I also agree with how little involvement this forum has had compared to previous years.

I honesty wasn't going to sign up and just snoop on here every once in a while like a creep. Lol. But it's been really helpful. Definitely love the support on there!

I'm applying to the UAlaska Southeast and the UAlaska Anchorage. I'm currently a student at the UAS, but the program here is an associate's. As someone that wants to be a CNM, I'd rather get a bachelor's straight away. The UW is the dream school so we'll see what happens. I'd rather move to Seattle than Anchorage because the further you get away from the lower 48, the more expensive good food gets...and I love my organics. The UAA has a bachelor's program, but it also has an 18-24 month waiting period after acceptance. :dead: We shall see what the universe decides is the right path for me. I'd love for it to be the UW!

Did you apply to any other programs besides the two you mentioned?

Yeah! I love the idea of supporting one another.

Shelleybaumer, you can always work towards your BS online as you work as a nurse :) I also applied to Seattle university, but I heard they give priority to current students there.

Hello all!

I was super frustrated with myself after finishing the proctored essay in the middle of the sentence, but I just thought I'd share with everyone that a few of my friends who went to UW or are in the program now said they know people who did that and still got in. They said they're more concerned about the content of your essay. Phew! :)

I agree. I think UW just wants to see how well you can think on your feet. That's probably one of several reasons why they only give the hour limit. That was the fastest hour of my life.

I think it went really well, overall I gave them confident answers. I was really nervous at the beginning so I talked way over the 2 min mark, but that was the worste part.

They fidbt seem too religious nor did they ask religion related questions.

I feel so lost without having some part of an application to fuss over now.

I agree! I'm only taking biochem right now and working part time. I feel like I have too much free time :/ lol.
