UTMB Fall 2020

Hey y'all! I will be applying for UTMB SON for fall 2020! I couldn't find a forum for it, so I decided to start one! It is a little early but many of you know it take forever to gather everything needed for the application! Please post all of your questions, stats, etc. SO excited to apply in November!

I'm applying for fall too! Does anyone know stats of previous applicants? UTMB is my first choice but I'm getting nervous because I know it's very competitive.

Hello everyone, I’m also planning to apply for Fall 2020, just took the TEAS today and got an 88%. I heard UTMB is competitive especially since they take a holistic view of each applicant. Hope we make it! (fingers crossed).

Hey everyone! I'm a little conflicted about whether or not it's recommended to get the BLS certification before applying for fall. I've seen on the spring forum that people say it helps make you a more competitive candidate, but I'm also hesitant because it expires in 2 years. So if I get it now, it would expire in the middle of when the program would be. Anyone have any insight on what's recommended?

im scheduled to take my TEAS november 20 im so nervous too!!

I had to have my BLS for healthcare providers for work. (I work at UTMB)

Your right it does say that your BLS is helpful, so I would go ahead and schedule it, just too get it out of the way and hope that it does make you more competitive, fingers crossed!

The fall semester is always more competitive, so I read on the website that 858 people apply and they accept 130! Definitely scary!

& Are yall applying anywhere else or just UTMB??

I'm definitely going to apply to others in Houston, just because of how competitive it is! UTHealth also has an accelerated program that's 15 months which I'm applying to.

I'm applying to UTHealth also! Maybe even TWU & St. Thomas, trying to apply to as many as I can because I know fall is SO competitive!

I know fall is super competitive! UTHealth's summer deadline isn't until Jan 15th if you're interested in that cycle too! I haven't heard about St. Thomas until you mentioned it. I looked it up, is it the 3 year program that you're referring to or is there an accelerated one as well?

I’m in the same boat! If you don’t mind, maybe we can start a smaller groupme for those applying to nursing schools here in Houston? If you’re interested, email me! [email protected]

I think this would be an easier way to ask questions and update each other on deadlines and stuff like that for houston schools
