Anyone else applying to UTMB for fall 2016?

Hey guys! I had my interview today. It went well! I met someone in admissions first and then a faculty member came to take me to her office for the interview. She had several prepared questions to ask me. My advice is to read your personal statement before the interview because they do expect you to know what you said in it. The questions weren't bad so don't worry. After she asked me all the questions (I think there were about 6), we just discussed the program and I asked a few questions. Both women that I met were really nice. The program seems awesome! Good luck to everyone who has upcoming interviews (:

Also, do not forget to bring $4 in cash to pay for the token to get out of the parking garage.

I'm so glad it went well! My interview is this Thursday >

Was it only one person interviewing you? :o

For some reason I thought it was going to be like a panel of judges hahah :x

I also had my interview yesterday. I'll echo what lexlonghorn said. First I met with the Asst. Dean then a 1-on-1 interview with a faculty member. Most questions were prepared and several were about what I said in my personal statement. It was pretty much what you'd expect...What made you choose UTMB? Study habits? Things of that nature. My advice is dress professionally, be polite and confident. They have decided that you meet requirements, they are just determining if UTMB is a good fit for you. They want to make sure they choose applicants who will be successful in their program. Good luck to all of you with upcoming interviews and I hope those of you waiting for one, hear something soon. Hope to meet you all in August.

I just got one as well! Wished they gave more heads up, my manager wants a two week heads up when I need to request a day off and the interview sessions are only until the 25th at least for this round of interviews.

My interview was Monday. Yes, they ask what is most important to you from your personal statement. They also asked some scenario questions about getting over loaded with the program and personal priorities. The faculty member that I met with was very down to earth. She said that you always want to talk to faculty if you ever get behind and your gpa is dropping. She also said she likes how I didn't plan on working during the program. They pretty much just want to know that you will be 100% committed. I felt like mine went well. Good luck to the rest of you!

I got an interview as well!

I recieved an interview as well. I am currently in WA and a last minute flight could be frighteningly expensive.

Does anyone know if they offer online or phone interviews?

I really don't want to lose this opportunity

Did anyone send a thank-you email after their interview? I know it's a common courtesy to send a thank you note after any interview but it honestly didn't cross my mind until now [emoji53]

Yes they will offer you a Skype interview if you live out of the area. They asked me and I only had a 4 hour drive.

I did send a thank you. I'm sure it's not too late if you feel inclined to do so!

I got one too. Ironically mine is the day before a friend who was in the first wave.
