UTMB FALL 2015

Hello everyone! I think it's finally time for someone to start a fall thread so here it goes. I am applying to UTHSC and UTMB for fall semester. I gave my teas test today and idk if that score is good enough or not. My GPA is 4.0 and teas individual score is 81. How did everyone else do in their test?

Hey everyone! I'm new to the thread and I am applying for Fall of 2015. I am going to have to take summer courses to complete my prerequsites before the start of school, if accepted (hopefully!). I was looking at the prerequisite list and just now realized that chemistry is only listed as 3-4 hours which is one class. I was planning on taking organic chemistry this summer (most other nursing schools require it), but does that mean UTMB only requires the basic chemistry class and not organic chemistry. Someone please help me! I'm so confused! Thanks :)

I believe so...I applied for Fall 2014 and only had Intro to Chemistry so yeah that's prob correct

Perfect. Thank you!

I was in the first wave of interview invites and received it and had my interview on Feb 21st.

When did you apply and everything was verified? ☺

I applied right when it opened and it didn't take long for the verification from NCAS.

I can't remember if I read it on this thread or on an earlier semester thread for UTMB. But has anyone retaken TEAS to improve their chances of getting into the program? Or has anyone heard of something like this? Thanks in advance!

I was wondering when did you get the invite? and how did they contact you?

I talked to an advisor before I took mine and she told me that the chance of you not getting a better score is high and if that did happen then you would have a much lower chance of getting it. So, if you score a 70 or above then you are good and don't retake it.

Are any of ya'll going to the Open House on February 13th?

Hello all!

Im new to the thread, and I just wanted to join the conversation, as I have a few questions of my own to ask everyone/anyone.

First, my stats as given by NursingCas:

Cummulative GPA: 3.15

Science GPA: 3.75

Pre-requisites: 3.4

Teas V: 71% (didn't study well and science was tough)

Not the best stats, but I'm hopeful as Ive heard that UTMB looks at the whole person, and not just from an academic point of view. Plus, I think my personal statement is rockin and shows me for me :)

So my questions:

1. Has anyone heard of people getting in without a previous bachelors degree

2. Do you think being a guy hurts my chances? Being that it's a female dominated profession

3. Should I retake the Teas V?

4. Do they take classes from junior college.

5. When will they start interviewing?

i know it's quite a bit to ask, but I appreciate any/all help.

It was the first of February and I interviewed the 21st of February. They contacted me my email about 8 days prior to that with possible interview dates and time and I had to call and reserve one.

@Mr.Nurse0913 I know 3 of my friends who are currently a part of UTMB's BSN program and none of them had a previous Bachelors degree when they applied. I believe the majority of students won't have a previous Bachelors degree. Also, if anything, I think being a guy might increase your chances of getting accepted. For your GPA, they will take every class you have ever taken into consideration (including classes from a community college).
