UTMB FALL 2014

I would like to start a thread for UTMB FALL 2014 since there I cannot find one. I am in the process of applying and this is the only school I am applying to. Right now, I just trying to finish my personal statement before I can submit it. I am a bit nervous and excited at the same time. So, how is everyone else doing?

@AScibby86 I was afraid I was the only thinking that! Well I know that transcripts coming late is not a problem cause the UTMB operator told me it was out of my control so I should not worry too much about it as long as I keep checking up on it. So I guess that goes for GPA calculations also. I was reading on the UTMB page (and other schools regarding NursingCAS) and apparently it comes after submission, so I think we'll be ok???

Thank you for the info! I feel so much better! Did you visit UTMB's campus? I went to UTMB and UTH's open houses.

My transcript FINALLY was received by NursingCAS today! I guess now I'm just awaiting GPA calculation. I really hope our applications will be considered despite missing transcripts/GPA calculations.

@AScibby86 No prob, I'm not 100% sure though! If you find out anything, please let me know! I couldn't go because I'm in Austin and I'm not the greatest driver (ha-ha). But did you find out anything from them?? So I could only call them to find out everything b/c I was really scared that my application would be thrown out.

I was told as long as everything is submitted and received by NCAS by the 15th day it's all good. They'll transmit to UTMB when GPA verification is done.

@nlh579: I will def let you know if I find something out. I live about halfway between UTH and UTMB. Whenever I first decided on nursing school, I had my mind made up on UTH but when I visited UTMB I fell in love with the campus. I have always lived in the suburbs so the city kind of scares me, lol. As far as finding out anything - it was pretty much reiterating what is on their website. I know that they are conducting interviews again, it is 4 consecutive semesters, and that they accept about 120 students.

@raidergirl95: thank you for the info!

they're not answering the phone at the moment.

Does anyone know if the science GPA includes all science courses (including non pre-requisite) or only science pre-requisites?

@inspiredbynavy I'm not positive but I imagine it is just science pre-requisites. I don't know why they would do all science classes.

Hey everyone! Okay I don't know if I'm dumb or over thinking, but the question on NCAS that asks, "Did you complete a GED?" What did yall put for that? I graduated high school with a diploma, but I never got a GED, so do I just put no?

If you graduated from hs, put no :)

Thank you!

Hello everyone,
